Yes, the pillow is breathable. You can not beat the pillow on this price. This pillow has a “just-right” density. It holds the head in the proper position when side-sleeping. It supports the neck nicely! This pillow seems to have good durability. I would definitely recomend this pillow !!

Q: tell me the honest truth-- I like a somewhat flatter pillow and do not like my head elevated too much, so are these "puffy" at all?

I use a different pillow (contoured for side sleepers) but my guests seem to love these pillows! I’m not sure what height would be most comfortable for you but these are not very high or puffy but not flat either.
