Amazon swords a pretty tolerant of harder water and should grow as long as you either use enriched substrate or root tabs. BUT if you have only a 2 .5 gallon tank one of these will crowd everything out in a couple of months. Anubias or Java fern might be a better option for the small tank. They’re hardy and undemanding , you can glue , with superglue gel or tie them to a rock or driftwood with string. Hope this helps.

Yes however if it is cold in your area currently so 32 degrees or below you need to wait to order until it warms up so your plants do not freeze.
