Awesome little printer
It’s my first day, but so far I love this thing. I’m an independent field tech who gets work from a platform. This means as work orders are posted or routed to me, I either request or accept the work. There are many different companies that assign me work and they all require different paperwork. They also require me to print a badge for each work order. This thing is handy because not only do I sometimes forget to grab pre-printed work orders and badges, but sometimes I get assigned a work order while I’m already in the field and have no way of printing out the necessary documents. This printer gives me the ability to be ready for any paperwork regardless of the situation.Right out of the box it was already at 89% battery charge, so if needed it was ready for me. It comes with a simple but informative instructional booklet with a QR code for the app of using on the mobile device. While the instructions didn’t specify how to put the printer in pairing mode (BT), it wasn’t hard for me to figure it out, as most devices use the same process.Once the app was downloaded and the printer was paired, test printing was a breeze. As many have mentioned, the print quality is compatible to a fax machine, but in my personal opinion, it is a higher quality than any fax machine we had in the house when I was growing up. Regardless of opinion, it works perfect for printing the documents I need for work. It is dark and very legible, and the paper is definitely thicker than the fax paper I’ve seen in the past.So far I’ve only seen two down sides to using this printer: I sometimes get an error about parsing the document when I try to open a document from the app. More importantly, I can’t print a document directly from its source, such as my work portal or website. I have to save the document to a folder on my phone, open the print app, and then search for the document. While it’s not terrible, it’s a little inconvenient. I don’t know if the issue is with the app or with the iOS, because the printer doesn’t show up in the list of available printers when trying to print from source. If that changes I think I won’t have any issues, but again, it’s too early to tell.Lastly, there is a travel/storage case available for the printer. I’ve made a separate review for that, so I won’t repeat it here. But I do recommend getting it. I believe I paid $15 for it.Hopefully this review helps you decide, if you’re on the fence about it. There may be printers out there with more convenient features or better quality -idk, but if like me, you’re on a budget and just need something simple for quick prints or on the go stuff, I highly recommend this product. One last thing - for the manufacturers: I work with cables all the time and have to seldomly print labels. My label maker kind of sucks and I see that there are wrap-around label paper for printers. The issue is they’re mostly for laser printers and some inkjet. For my work, I don’t always know the specific label titles that are required until after I arrive. If someone could develop these wrap-around style label paper for this type of thermal printer, that would be amazing. Just putting it out there.

cant find paper
As a trucker that lives on the road full time, I thought this would be a perfect space saver, and it really is. I purchased one and received a used printer, complained about it, tried to print out a return label but that option is not available and they only let me return it from home, even though I picked it up at an amazon box far from home because I'm an over the road trucker and I am always on the road. They couldn't figure out how I could return it, so they mailed me a new one to my moms house, which I still havent opened because I'm always on the road. Very little paper comes with it, so I tried to get paper and was sent a link by the seller, only to find out he is out of stock and dont know when he will get more. Now I find myself with no paper for a used printer that I cannot return and having to find a load to my moms house just to return these printers that I can't find paper for. Mom lives in south florida, so It's not where you want to usually go as a trucker becuase there are no loads leaving and it's just a huge loss of revenue. The paper is expensive and in my case hard to get.PRO's: The printer is super small, nice and heavy, stays in place, easy to load, easy to print, very legable, better looking than a traditional printer.CONS: No one seems to carry compatable paper (not even the seller HPRT), it's hard to return while gone from home, may come used, as mine did, price constantly changing.I will keep the new one unopened and try to find paper for this used on until I get home and return both. For now I may be looking at getting a cheap printer at walmart in the meantime because I need to print out oversize load permits on monday. unreal! Wish I had never gotten this.

Portable
I live in a camper, so needed something small and versatile. This little printer fit the bill. I didn't need a printer with all the bells and whistles, just something to print papers I needed for work, recipes I wanted to try or letters I wanted to send snail mail. The thermal paper is easy to install. I am not electronic savvy, but I was able to figure out how to hook the printer up to get it to print. It prints quickly. The paper size is a little larger than 8x11, but I works ok for me. I am glad I finally found something I could use in my small space.

Wow! Exceeded my expectations.
Wow! Exceeded my expectations. I was looking mainly for a portable printer for my service truck. I wanted maximum portability and compactness. Most jobs are now invoiced by email but a small percentage still want (or need) a physical handbill. It’s a bummer. I keep digital notes and add line items to the invoice as I’m working and, when I finish, it’s a simple matter to copy & paste my notes into the job description and double check the line items. Well, when they need a handbill I still have to do all that for our records. I just have to write out a handbill on a carbon copy invoice ALSO with my horrible handwriting and much more limited space for detailed notes and line item details.I was aware that thermal printing doesn’t produce quite as clean of an image as most decent quality inkjet and laser printers. Also, there’s not even real grayscale. A grayscale effect is accomplished with about 3 shades of darkness and dpi concentration. I’m not trying to print photos or detailed graphics, though. Text and basic line graphics are the main concern and I was willing to make that trade for what you get with this thermal printer. It’s VERY compact. The built-in battery can handle plenty of printing which means it should be more than capable of printing 3 pages after non-use for 4 weeks straight (my more likely use case). It stores it’s own paper on a roll inside the printer! 24 pages worth! Yes, you tear the sheet off once it prints. Yes, that leaves tiny tear serrations at the top & bottom of each page. If you want super business professional looking pages this may not be the printer for you but they’re so tiny you don’t really even notice it unless you focus on them. I guarantee not one customer will care considering that I printed up a nice looking, detailed invoice in my work van. Also, it’s a HUGE extra bonus that I don’t have to worry a bit about ink cartridges and thermal printing technology tends to be VERY reliable for MANY prints over a long period of time.It arrived with a 92% charge. The small quick guide booklet had a QR code for the iPhone app. It worked, downloaded the app, opened the printer & loaded the paper into the feeding mechanism, turned it on, connected to it in about 10 seconds, updated it to the latest firmware in about 30 seconds, took about 60 seconds to find the first thing I wanted to print and printed it using 2 different print settings as a test.First I printed dark (3rd of 3 options) under the text setting. Then I printed moderate darkness under the “picture” setting. The dark & text setting does give you very dark, heavy lines that might be helpful for some with VERY poor vision but the moderate darkness & “picture” setting really looked better to me and, generally, more easily legible. The small logo in the top corner also came out more visible that way.I was pleasantly surprised. As I mentioned, you will get more precise lines with most inkjet or laser printers but this actually looks quite good. Super legible and, although maybe not perfectly precise, the text has a sort of sharpness to it that looks good in its own way. It prints VERY VERY quickly. Even faster than the laser printers I’m used to. And boy, I didn’t really comprehend just how compact this thing is… and it holds 24 sheets worth of paper in it to boot! The paper is RELATIVELY expensive (compared to regular paper) but I consider it a reasonable trade off for me. Currently, after tax, it should cost me $0.33 a page. For that I get 24 sheets worth of paper compactly stored inside the printer where it won’t get bent or damaged. I never have to worry about running out of ink. I have the ability to print very LONG sheets or banners. Don’t currently know what I would use that for but it is cool. Also, I was concerned that with the paper coming off a roll it would be all rolled up once printed & torn off. It has the slightest roll to the edges but it lays flat just fine when I lay the sheet down. No problem at all.I’m excited to use this thing in the field and, of course, I’ll play with it for some personal print jobs as well. If it holds up for at least 2-3 years it will be worth every single penny.

Worth the money
Was easy to set up. Initially had difficulty printing but troubleshooted and reinstalled the software and reconnected to the computer and works as expected EVERY time. Had to get used to the device but once I got a feel for it, works great!!! I purchased this device to avoid trips to Office Depot for printing. I merely send my document to Adobe Acrobat is what I choose to do, open up the app on my cell, from the app touch DOCUMENTS, locate my document in Acrobat. I can print all pages or a range of pages or one page at a time. Within the app I can also select my paper size and margins. For this printer I find A4 paper with thin margins printing one page at a time is perfect. One page at a time allows me to catch any user errors. After each page I tear off using the included perforation bar. Easy peezy. GREAT INVESTMENT and I can find more A4 thermal paper on Amazon.
