How deep is the internal compartment, and how deep is the internal tray?

Inner tray is approx 50mm deep so only good for small hand tools or blades , drill bits etc if you are using main box for power tools , main compartment is 52.5 x 34.5 x 26 cm which equates to a couple of power tools for example I can fit my worx Axis circular saw, jigsaw, plus two other power tools like a multitool and Reciprocating saw all fit, if you don't use the inner tray a couple of drills also fit with the saws , all in all these are a better fit then in the dewalt or stanley stacking boxes , it's a much bigger box but still able to be carried or used with the base wheeled one , I recommend getting the base wheeled one as well 😉

Is this fire/explosion proof box?

No not at all its just a well made tough construction tool box, which fits there stacking wheeled toolbox sets , ideal for powertool storage or hand tools, Highly Recommended they are waterproof and strong Abs plastic is used.
