The valve it self appears to be brass and works well. It is easy to turn on and off. I only used the valve, not the tote and it served my purpose very well.

I have ordered this item before only to get the wrong size. Finally I was able to get the one that fits the actual valve on the tank.

Didn't Fit
This particular tank adapter didn't fit my particular tote. The threads were fine and everything appeared as though it would have gone on, but I found the threads start a bit further back then the edge, causing it harder to try and start the connection. I also noted that 2" vs. the tote connection were off a bit... I ended up ordering this one and another adapter and found the other, with a bunch of force (more than I felt was needed) ended up fitting better. It was also cheaper and came with a quick connect option also. I gave this 3 stars because the unit itself is solid. Just need to make sure you measure and check the measurements...
