The Lion Handbook to the Bible Fifth Edition: Still the Best Book to Have Next to the Bible

I bought this to replace an older edition having found the previous one a very valuable resource. This edition contains much new information and is very well written and easy to follow. It is easier to use as it is not a hard back. Strongly recommended as a fabulous resource.

Really informative book and easy to read. I’d recommend to anyone who wants to understand the bible even just a little better.

If you enjoy a bit of scripture and want a bit more background information this book is for you. I have the quest Bible which already contains side notes and maps but the handbook compliments it beautifully. I wanted a book with a bit more on the history and geography of the time and wasn't disappointed with the contents. The book is in full colour and has lots of fascinating tit bits of info to throw into conversation to amaze people (or bore them depending on their interests). If anyone manages to memorize both I'm pretty sure they will know everything there is to know on the subject and pass biblical scholarships....well perhaps not, but I would think they would be close.

I know the book.Whereas the hardback book can be flicked through to find a specific book, ie I Samuel- On Kindle I had to learn how to find the contents page. Page indicators and numbering I found confusingOnce learned how to negotiate it may be useful.Having to check my hardback to find my Kindle page is very strange, but that’s what I did, to find that page numbers don’t match on Kindle.Therefore, I found it a bit of a wrestle if used for commentary, which is my habit.Annotations oddly, don’t transfer to a second iPad.

an excellent text to support you whilst you study the bible - assisting with an overview of sections and details of background information. Charts and maps and diagrams are all easy to read.
