These seem hard to find so I jumped on this kit when I saw it. They are called insulation displacement connectors (IDCs) that have slots in a metal blade that slides over wires (when squeezed with pliers) and the sharp edges of the slots cut through the insulation to make the connections to the wire inside - no need to remove insulation!It's important to pick the right color/connector for the wire size(s) you're working with (often marked on the insulation)... Red = 22-18 AWG, Yellow = 12-10 AWG, and Blue = 18-40 AWG. If you use too small a connector, you risk cutting the wire, if you use too big, you may not make a good connection.Make sure you disconnect power (if possible) before using these and make sure there's a fuse or breaker as needed.To use these (see pictures), you position the wires into the connector and then squeeze the blade down with a large pair of pliers so that the blade is driven fully down into the slot in the plastic housing. Then you fold over the plastic cover that snaps in place and you have a neat, reliable, insulated connection.The darker blue ones only have one slot so you have to position 2 wires on top of each other in the same slot. All the others have 2 slots (as pictured); the slot nearest the fold over clip has a plastic blank at one end so place the 'new' wire in this side and place the wire being connected to on the other side - this side also has a slot that you can open up slightly with a small screwdriver (if necessary) so you can push the connector over the wire being connected to.I used them to wire a fish finder into our pontoon boat; I found the red/black wires that ran from the accessory breaker to the stereo system, checked the AWG, and used the correct clips to 'piggy back' connect the red/black wires for the fish finder power lead. Everything worked first time and the wires are firmly and permanently held.

These work great as long as you use them on the right wire sizes. The color-coding helps a lot with this.

Got these for a fog light installation for my car. Worked great! It has the little stop on the end of one side so you don’t push the wire through. Was able to make good connections without an issue. Easy to use especially in tight places where you can’t get in to do a lot of cutting and taping of wires.
