I liked everything about the buckets.They are nice & strong with lids .The price was the best i've found & I searched all over & other companies charged way more for less buckets.I use them to store rice & other food.I will absolutely buy again when needed .

The media could not be loaded.  UPDATE: Seller was very quick to respond ( the next business day )regarding the wrong color of item sent originally and sent replacement with the reply to my request. Customer service responce is excelent. I was going to give a 4 star but with such a quick response and resolution I feel they deserve a 5 star.2 stars becauseI I ordered the black buckets and got the white buckets instead. I am in the middle of a juice cleans and got the buckets to help clean the vegetables but also really wanted the black buckets to block out light for food storage. I don't have time to return and wait for new items. I would probably have given a 4 star.Contacted the seller to see if I could keep 3 of the white ones could use them to clean vegetables and send back 3 of them so they can replace them with the black ones I actually ordered.Probably would have given 4 stars if I had received the right color buckets I ordered.As far as the buckets both the lids and buckets are labeled HDPE which means they are food safe and BPA free👍. The lids have rubber seal👍. Bottoms of buckets are a bit warped not necessarily a deal breaker but if it's important for it to be flat maybe this one is not for you👎. The rubber mallet has good weight and build for its purpose, it works fine for getting the lid down👍. The lid remover is sturdy and well made also works fine👍.Side note regarding the ease of getting the lid on. It clearly states on the lid to break the tab and strip to take off the cover. You will want to do this before putting the lid on or it will be nearly impossible. After removing the strip from the lid its really not that hard to get the lid on with the mallet. Just gently hold the lid down and go around and tap each tabbed section down until they are all down. It really doesn't take too much force with the rubber mallet. Do not misplace the lid remover it is well designed and makes taking the lid off without damaging it easy. If you lose the lid remover you could use something to lift the tab. I'd recommend getting another lid remover though they are cheap here on Amazon. It's a little bit of a pain getting on and off but you have to realize if you want an airtight seal that holds the bucket and lid together firmly against the rubber oring this is necessary but it's not difficult to do. I imagine all the people complaining about getting the lid on just didn't remove the tab and strip.

One of the 6 buckets arrived with a small amount of dark residue inside. I thoroughly cleaned it but was still uncomfortable storing food in it. Called customer support and a live person, who was a native English speaker, answered the phone. She listened to my concern and immediately arranged for a replacement bucket -- without the hassle of returning the defective one. The replacement arrived within 2 days.The buckets and lids are sturdy and the lid seals tightly. I do recommend the lid opening tool and mallet. Also: read the instructions; the lid cannot be removed from the bucket until the pull-tab is removed from the lid.

They appear to be of good quality , so I turned around and orderd the same set fot my Daughter. Will see how they hold up once filled , lid on and stackability !

I don't trust any claims for manufactured goods made by the ChiComs. These are USA made, so they must meet certain standards to claim the buckets are food grade quality. The mallet & lid opener are a bonus addition. This manufacturer sells at a favorably competitive price based on my research. Free shipping helps.

I really like the food grade buckets. We put water in them to use for our chickens every other day we change out all their waterers. The buckets came with a tool to help take the lids off. I love this tool. I think that it would be very hard to get the lids off without the extra tool. We will probably buy again.

These are high quality buckets and the frosting on the cake is the hammer and opener. You are going to need both so-- get a package deal. Made in the USA.
