I bought this to cut to size to use as a pre-filter for my room air purifier ("AP"). My AP didn't come w/ its own pre-filter, but pre-filters increase the life of the expensive filters by capturing larger particles of dust, pet fur, dirt, etc, which, in turn, keeps the expensive filter from clogging up, lengthening its useful life.I don't know the right terminology to describe this foam, but it's just the right degree of... airiness? It's not very dense, so it collects the big gunk w/o interfering w/ the AP's air flow.I take it out periodically to clean it (either by vacuuming or by spraying it off with my shower head then letting it dry) and then put it right back in the AP.

Saved me tons of money on my washer/dryer combo filter from GE. The company's filters were on back order so I just bought this and cut it to fit. It's the exact same thing and way cheaper. I felt like a genius for thinking to do this. Will definitely buy again. One roll made about 6 filters but when they run out I will buy more. No need to pay more for the same thing from GE ever again.

Being my landlord isnt so great to clean vents and all, I opted to buy some filters to keep my air and house a bit cleaner. they catch alot before going into my heating system on my one intake vent which is great...I have allergies and I think my cat does to. so for the both of us , I am satisfied with this product catching more dirt , dust and debris that is in the air I breath
