Amazon Basics Yoga & Exercise Mat with Carrying Strap

I've been using the loaner yoga mats at my gym for quite some time. This yoga mat seems very similar to the gym mats, except it was slightly thicker, much softer, and didn't smell like other peoples' body odor!There are two reasons I'm giving this three stars instead of five:1. The purple color was quite different from the original listing, and the color was almost the sole reason I purchased this specific yoga mat. The listing made the purple color look as if it was a Jam/Boysenberry/Mulberry (see attached picture for color reference); however, what I received was a Purple/Violet.2. The strap that is included is difficult to use. It's super easy to attach to the mat, but it slides all over the place and makes it difficult to carry as a result.3. The mat compacts very easily and ends up being very, very thin (I'm 115lbs, so weight isn't the issue), and takes quite a while to pop back up. This was making it a little uncomfortable for my knees during certain yoga poses. The mat is very soft and pliable, so I'm guessing this is why (if the mat were harder/more stiff, it wouldn't compact so easily, but then it wouldn't be as soft and comfy, so it's a trade-off).Bottom-line: The quality of the mat was better than I expected for the low price-point, and I'm pleased with this purchase overall. I would definitely recommend this mat for someone who has budget in mind, and someone who doesn't necessarily mind if the color is slightly different from the pictures on the listing.Overall, the mat is

This mat is great for taking just a basic, simple yoga class. I even use this at home for doing stretches. I've even used this for at home pilates stretching. This mat is great on my cement floors as it doesn't slip. Is comfortable when it comes to laying down stretching but I can still feel the floor underneath me. However, I'm more concerned about it not slipping out from underneath me and this mat doesn't do that. Even when it comes to moving while in med stretch, the mat doesn't move. Plus it goes back to its original state when done. Rolls up nicely and fits in my closet.

decent price for what you get, however, this is not a firm mat and gives way to any pressure whatsoever. i thought it might be because of my weight, however, my boyfriend who is a lot lighter than i am stepped on it and in seconds it compressed so flat he could feel the wood floor and he was astounded. please be aware of this before you buy. this makes it rather painful for my knees and elbows when trying to do any sort of yoga or stretching.

So excited to finally have my yoga mat. I picked pink to match my aerial yoga swing I have hung up at home. Matches great!! The quality in this mat is top notch, it very nice and soft to the touch, and it’s not too thin or too thick. I like the little carrier it comes with too it is easy to attached to the mat, makes it easy to take with you to class! And you choose from so many different colors, I almost picked purple instead! I might get myself a second one to have more coverage on the ground underneath my yoga swing. This also maybe a good gift for someone who is a frequent yoga goer or does yoga at home!

I bought two of these for me and my husband. He does yoga in bare feet and his mat is constantly leaving little red pieces behind. His mat is tore up already. I do yoga in my socks so mine looks perfectly intact. They do have a strong smell that does go away (eventually) but was a little sickening in the beginning. But they get the job done and I love the colors.

This is a little thick for solid floor yoga. I thought I'd try it, as it's from Amazon. Interestingly, it works well on my carpet floor. It's heavier than my old-reliable (of 23 years) and as foam, it "gives" a bit and stays flat to the floor. It allows for slippage. :( however, being thicker and with the give, I do have sufficient "grip." I will be keeping this mat for home practice, but found another brand (ordered same time as this mat) that has excellent "grip." Cannot give 5 star (superior) rating. This mat looks like it's been through WW3. I am hard on things, but we're talking exercise here. The mat should be able to hold up better. It leaves chunks at the yoga studio daily. That is disappointing.

I use this for doing sit ups / crunches because the ground hurts my spine, it's awesome for that. It's definitely long and wide enough for everyone. As for comfort, I brought it with me when I hiked overnight in the mountains and slept on it in my tent, it's comfortable enough to sleep on. I wouldn't bring it hiking with me again though because it's too big to carry for 10 miles. So there's that

Mat is perfect non-skid material, pretty thick and comfortable. Only drawback in all such mats it the width size is less. In some asanas your hands or legs will go off the mat on sides. Perfect width is 4 feet while this is 3 feet.Otherwise, it is perfectly fine.

I had been looking for a mat for a long time. I was using an Obsessions yoga mat 173cm and needed a longer one since I am almost 6ft. This was the third mat I ordered in my pursuit for a satisfactory one.This mat is absolutely the same as the one I was using (I compared the two side by side). This is inportant because I was pretty satsified with that one and only needed a new mat because of its length and wear and tear. This one was delivered in about 2 days and came with a carrying strap.The mat had a texture as shown in the image. Takes the pressure of postures well and resumes its shape. The thickness is comfortable for me. The only downside is that its a bit slippery but then I found this to be present in the other mats i tried except for the rubber ones. So, i settled for this mat considering that I cannot escape the slippery aspect. This mat doesnt smell that much too. I do beginner level yoga on it and find it a bit slippery only when i do the inverted V in surya namaskar. Otherwise its fine (thats why 4 stars). You will definitely not find this long a mat for this price in the market or anywhere online; atleast I could not.

The thickness is good, and the material is stable or sturdy, not very soft. And it resists a good amount of wear and tear or shall I say has good tolerance to rough use.Improvement can be the carrying band - that's clumsy

A good product at the right price. Was packed well. The mat quality is soft. Bought a purple colour and it looks great. The length (6 feet) is sufficient for any person with average height. It comes with a carry band and is separately packed in a small plastic cover. If unnoticed, you may throw the box along with the band.

The mat works well but doesn't last long. It started shedding the material after around an year. So over time it gets thinner and thinner and is no longer comfortable to work out on.
