You deserve it, besides you're the town's best photographer!
Nice, fast go anywhere pocket prime, great for other users (getting kids interested in photography), super slim and travel handy. Don't forget ur uv lens, then order a decent cap.Cons? Little noisy, but I don't plan on having a cinematic experience in 12k🙃, just a whisper reminder it's a camera and not a phone lol.Lens cap, gonna be hard$ to replace...

Excellent for low-light wide-angle needs
I use this to get up close and personal at concerts and for some group portraits. Excellent and light weight.Cons: Doesn’t take a standard lens cover, and mine got lost. A new one is $20-30!! Are you kidding me? I expect better for a $400 lens (after $7-8 thousand on the bodies)

Perfect lens for travel
I bought this to replace my 28mm SE lens due to the weather sealing. I mostly use this on my Nikon Zf body, and for travel. I find that the 26mm is perfect for travel, as its wide enough for capturing most memories, without weird distortions from an ultra wide lens. I used to use a 35mm lens for travel, however I found that it was often too narrow for capturing a scene, and this 26mm was much for versatile. Image quality is great, and the AF performance is perfect for anything that you would use this lens for (as in, it's not for sports or action).

The hood does click and stays on!!! 😁
The media could not be loaded. I’ve noticed many reviewers even on YouTube claiming the hood comes off and I accidentally turned it until it clicked while twisting the cap lol. It does click and stays on.Lovely lens that I’ll be using especially for street shots. I’m glad I got to purchase this as it’s backordered in most places, and even being sold used at a higher price than retail. Very nice lens. I’d recommend using a filter as this one protrudes in an out when focusing, therefore the possibility of dust getting inside is a little higher. Also it’s not the quietest when focusing but that doesn’t bother me. Great purchase

Nice 26 pancake with some design compromise
I bought both the 26 f2.8 and 40 f2. I think I received a very good copy of the 26, but not the 40 (could not get the 40 to focus on specific point so returned it).The 26 is a very nice little lens, but there are some design and usability compromises. The optical element extends/retracts a bit, the lens hood twists on with a soft lock but there is no hard lock/click, and when a filter is attached it is attached to the lens hood rather than to the lens itself (since optical element retracts/extends). So, when you have the lens hood with filter attached, it looks like 4 section lens: lens body, focus ring, lens hood, filter extending from lens hood. The lens hood looks like a dummy focus ring. The flexible plastic lens cap slides over the lens hood/filter if attached, or if not, it slides over the focus ring. It is a friction fit lens cap. The lens cap may seem different, but I like it since it is very easy and convenient to remove and put on.Chalk up some design oddities to have a slim pancake with very good image quality - creative Nikon engineers...And of course, the price of $450-500 is a con - more expensive than the 28 ($275)Note prices of other lenses (new - much larger primes):24mm f1.8 S $1,00024mm f1.8 $75020mm f1.8 $800Overall, I am very happy with the 26 and initial images. As for the 26 v 28, I don't have the 28.

Sharp!
Sharp and super portable. It's nearly invisible on my Z6 and the build quality is great.

A Very Useful Lens
This is a small, light, all purpose lens useful as a wide angle on full-frame Z bodies or a standard lens on APS-C Z bodies or full-frame bodies in Dx crop mode. It is a pleasure to carry mounted on my Z7ii for street or landscape photography, far better than the usual heavy, bulky Z lenses. Images exhibit no distortion in any way except at extreme close-ups, which is to be expected and even welcomed. And, it’s very sharp, right up there with all the f/1.8 Z lenses.
