Boys love them
We bought them simply to last for a week beach vacation and they did the job!

Pricey but fun
Nostalgia from my childhood! The catchers are smaller than they used to be, which makes it a little harder and more fun for an adult :) The kids threw them in the pool and played so we accidentally found out they are water proof and work perfectly wet. The carrying bag is helpful to pack up and store. Nice to have extra balls because you will inevitably lose one.

fun for the whole family
I ordered these after seeing another family playing with something very similar on the beach. My kids are older and no longer play with sand toys and I thought this would be a great activity to engage with them. It is a great set. I got the set with 4 paddles and 4 balls as there are four in our family. I was surprised the balls are actually tennis balls. I thought they would be cheap plastic but they are not. The paddles have adjustable straps on the back so they can fit the tiniest to the biggest hands. The velcro paddle makes for easy catching so this is especially great for little ones who don't have as much coordination yet. My daughter and I tossed around a ball in the backyard and it was a lot of fun. Cannot wait for our beach trip next month so we can all play together. A great way to break up a long day at the beach or for some fun at a picnic or just cutting the boredom of summer in the backyard.

Works great - smaller than I thought
This product works perfectly, the surface on the circular “catch” pieces grad onto the ball easily when thrown and the colors are extremely vibrant just as pictured. In my head, I pictured the “catch” pieces being a bit larger, but they are exactly the size shown in the product images - the seller provided information is 100% accurate. I like that there is a storage bag to keep everything in as well.

Just as fun as I remember
I used to have this game as a kid and thought it would be fun to play it with my own family. My daughter has played it with other friends who own similar sets. The kit has all expected items: three balls, 6 paddles, and a nylon bag to store them in. The bag had a bit of a chemical smell out of the box but it wasn’t overpowering. There is a rubbery material on the seam line of the three balls that has a typical rubbery smell. It must have been injection molded into place because there’s a very obvious seam line, but it didn’t affect playability. My daughter was so excited when she saw the set that we went outside right away to play a game of catch for about an hour. She happened to have one of those tulle tutus on when we went out; I should have realized but of course the velcro in the paddle started sticking to the skirt when she put her arms down. We removed it before any real damage was done so it wasn’t a problem; just a good thing to keep in mind for future games. The ball held up well after our game. It was rolling over grass, dirt, and asphalt when we’d miss, but any bits of dried plants and bark that got stuck to it were easily brushed off. It got a couple of dirty spots but most of the dirt came off pretty easily as well. While it resembles a tennis ball, it’s not nearly as bouncy. This works out well for me so I don’t have to chase it all over the neighborhood when one of us misses a throw.I find the paddles to be adequate in size to cover my hand. The diameter of 7.3” shown in the product photos aligns with my own measurement of the paddle, and my own hand measures about 7” from the base of my palm to the tip of my middle finger, so I just barely make the cut. My husband’s fingers extend over the top. There is an adjustable velcro strap on the back. It felt a little itchy at the seam where they’d joined the fuzzy part with the rough part, but it didn’t irritate me too much. My daughter had to take a break at one point to stretch her fingers and I realized she’d made hers too tight—which is somewhat easy to do since there isn’t any stretch to the strap. Once she realized it didn’t need to be so tight to function we played continuously and didn’t need breaks. The ball adhered well to the velcro in both paddles, and the lip around the edge adds a little challenge since it will bounce away if it hits the edge. There isn’t any inner padding so you’ll feel the force of the ball on your hand as it makes contact. We were throwing underhand so it was never too painful, just a momentary sting.I’m sure this will get a lot of use during park visits and beach days. My daughter had a great time, and it’s a good opportunity for her to get some practice with her hand-eye coordination. There are a lot of kids in our apartment complex so with four extra paddles, we’ll be able to invite others to join too.

Poor construction. Don't buy.
They fell apart during second use. Gift to grandchildren.
