The perfect tach for my resto mod 73 Mach 1
I purchased this tach to add to a 1973 Mach 1 gauge cluster (on a car that didn't come with a tachometer). After testing, I took the tach apart and adapted it into an original tach gauge cluster in which I also converted (the cluster) to white. All in all, I'm very happy. The original 73 Mustang Mach 1 tachometers aren't as nice as this. The needle is almost identical to the original. The tach has a startup sequence where it goes from 0 to 8000rpm and back. Seems like it's calibrating itself.Accuracy wise, I found it to be close to my other bench tachs. It's quick and responsive. My use is for mostly low RPM testing and at idle I get identical results.Word to the wise, make good connections. Solder if you can. Wires are thin/small gauge. The better the connections, the more accurate the results. Electrons only flow when they have a place to go! :)For $20, this was totally worth it. The original casing was really nice. I ended up purchasing a second one, just as another bench tach to make comparisons with. There are more expensive and perhaps slightly nicer tachometer out there. But if you are like me and you just need a tachometer to rip apart and convert into something else... then this is a great tach! I took a risk... it worked out!5 stars because the value/price/build is all there.

Not accurate
The tach worked, or so I thought. RPM seemed a bit low to what I thought it should be. I bought a name brand tach and confirmed that this tach was in fact reading way too low.I thought maybe it was set for 6 or 8 cylinders and could be changed to 4. In the pictures, it looks like there is a switch on the back to do this however the tach I received did not have this, so that’s an inaccurate description right there. And yes, I opened it up to see if the switch was inside but nope. Nothing.Sure it’s a cheap tach but still disappointed that it can’t function as described so I will be returning it.

Works great
Easy to install with good instructions. Wanted a blue backlight to match other gauges and it’s perfect.I have nothing to check the accuracy with but it seems pretty close to what I think it should be. Just installed it so I can’t speak to longevity. Price was amazing cheap so I bought a second one to keep on hand. It in a classic car so it only gets driven in the summer months. I’ll review again in a year and let you know how it’s working.

Just received tach
The media could not be loaded. Just received the tach today. Wasn't secure in the factory packaging. Nothing damaged, hooked it up to my Buell Blast and set to 1 cylinder easily. Light brightness changes easy with a push of a button and matchs my color swapped leds in my speedometer. We'll see how the shift light knob stays adjusted with the vibration of a 500cc single cylinder HD engine and how it holds up in general with the vibration. Wish it had a plug and came with a white face to match my other gauges like the glowshift one I originally bought and didn't work. This feels like the glowshift tach. Yes it's lightweight, it's not an '80's 5" autometer monster tach. For the price we'll see how long it lasts. It's good for me for now.

Cheap manufacturer
Worked accurately for 10 miles Then jumped from 2500 to 4k. After shutting off engine and restarted been accurately working. But every so often needle jumps way up and bk to normal. Only 88 miles so far. Doubt it's gonna last. Also can't change color.

Junk do not buy
I wired everything correct and the tach worked for about 30 seconds then stopped reading rpm. The backlights looked cool and I like the dimmable feature so that’s why it gets one star or else it would get zero. Disappointed in product

Hard to use, had to return
Tach did not read my RPM, instead it would just turn on and off when it detected any kind of electrical signal. Had to return and just use a runleader digital tach. On the flipside, the motor is a stepper motor and one powered on it has an click animation and a sweep.
