ZEON and Warn Failed
Had this winch for 4 years and used 3 times - when i needed it most all failed and later found out through many tests the motor died. Spoke with Warn customer services and this unit now has 7 year warranty with past units not grandfathered in so all is lost. Furthermore finish on the winch has faded and has eroded with a couple rock chips. Expected a little more from the premium winch series and Warn organization. All their customer service representative said was " I understand". Would have been nice for Warn to do something to keep me back into the Zeon. No longer a fan of Warn or their winches.

Failed year two. Warranty has been HORRIBLE!! :( BUT many years later, its still kicking.
Is' strong, its stylish, its relatively inexpensive and it is recommended by me! We have used it to rescue mini vans on the beach that try to cross the soft sand, Its saved a volvo stuck in the mud on the side of the road, its saved my jeep from itself once too! its a power house! operation of the winch is a sinch and I can only say good things about it!an update! 6-13-15 about two years after buying this winch, went to do what i consider regular maintenance (release the clutch, pull some line out and winch it back in to the keep the gears moving and happy) the winch is dead stuck, the electronics and motor try, but the gears wont budge, its frozen stiff and I have no possible idea how or why :( it has lived its life on the front of my jeep which is garage parked since it came home 4 year ago when I got the jeep itself, the winch has been in the mud but never submerged, The winch has been rained on, its been in the cold and the heat, and its seemed to do fine in all the Florida climate can throw at it BUT today, it just locked up. It is a sealed unit so i cant say what has happened. I am going to try and have Warn take care of it with their "limited lifetime warranty" so we will see how it goes.Spent a lot of money for it to only last 2 years :(Update 8-26-15Well it has been 71 days since it arrived at the authorized WARN service shop. I have had to call weekely to get anything going. First it was busy at the shop, then it was parts ordered on the way and not arriving, then it was parts ordered and on the way, then parts were actually NOT ordered but now they are and they are on the way.... Today its just ? ? ? Still no winch. Now! The reason it failed is the other bad news! It has a nylon bushing that is at the end of the drum (each end). This nylon bushing has been warped through normal use for some reason (service centers diagnosis) water was able to get in the winch and rust the gears at the clutch handle, so turn the clutch and it moves freely but the gear that engages the motor will not move so in or out nothing happens. For as much money as I have spent I could have bought 2 smity built winches and simply had a back up in case of failure. This has been a HUGE let down. I thought buying this big name brand winch would be a smart move but it has clearly backfired.Got it back day 72..... Its on the Jeep so lets see how it does... Will update as events unfold.1-12-2021Well... Its still working. Its not used much but since the warranty repair was done years ago I have not had any trouble out of it. The Jeep was totaled back in November 2020 and the winch survived that incident and is now installed on my new replacement Jeep. I will never forget how crappy the warranty service was BUT the product, once repaired and on track is excellent. its been a solid part of my Jeeps since it was first purchased.

Box it arrived in was worse for wear
Got it mounted this past weekend.Box it arrived in was worse for wear, but the winch was fine.Haven't had to use it yet.I got it for our off road trips, and hurricane season. We are on a tree lined dead end, the last to get help. We usually have to cut our way out. so this will be one of our tools, along with the chain saws.

Warn has great service.
I bought a Zeon8 for my new 0IIIIIII0 JEEP. It arrived with deep scratches on top cover. Shipping box/Warn box were not damaged. I called Warn Cust Service & they are sending me a replacement cover free of charge. I bought a Warn winch because of their legendary quality. I found out they also have great service! Thank you Warn! I will be buying additional Warn products and accessories.
