Have patience - it works!

TLDR; patience is virtue, but this stuff works.Buckle in folks, this one’s a doozy. I live in a rental built in the 40s, lots of cracks and crevices and issues as it is. In September 2024, we started seeing fleas in our bathtub. Just the bathtub. My roommate tried to keep her cat out of the bathroom, but invariably, the fleas spread. We treated with sprays and exterminator treatments, to no avail. Roommate moved out in November 24 and took the cat with her. At this point, I thought it’d only be a matter of time before the fleas went away, right? WRONG. Not only did they not go away, they spread to almost every part of the house. Despite us having no pets. It was psychological warfare. We used sprays, bug bombs, diatomaceous earth, flea traps, and daily vacuuming. They persisted. I felt my sanity breaking. I’m on Reddit every waking hour trying to find a solution. Finally, someone suggests this product. I think “sure, I’ve already dumped hundreds into this issue. What’s another $40?” And folks, I’m thrilled to notify you that it’s the final $40 I’ve spent on flea products. I applied once, saw a small dip in fleas. I felt discouraged, but gave it another application two weeks later. Within about 6 weeks, the fleas finally waned. It has now been 3 months since the first application, and I haven’t seen a flea on the ground, on my body, or on the flea traps in about a month. I feel free once more. Buy this stuff, but give it time to work. Your reward is coming soon!

It works to get rid of fleas

I had a terrible flea infestation and the fogger I used didn't do the job. My vet recommended Fleabusters saying that if you follow the directions, you will get rid of the fleas. I also bought a powder duster, as this product is very fine like baby powder, and a little goes a long way. I fogged the carpet and hardwood floors, and within two weeks the fleas were all dead. To be cautious, I use the fogger every two weeks to keep any eggs from coming to maturity.

It’s amazing! Highly recommend

This stuff is amazing!! I’m almost 2 years from my application of flea busters in the house and the cats and I are still flea free. Just follow the instructions, sprinkle evenly, sweep it in and let product sit for a couple days before the marathon of vacuuming. I recommend wearing a mask and gloves while applying and brushing into carpet. Then get used to vacuuming often (at least every other day for two weeks) after you sweep it in to your carpet. Get your animals out of the house when applying and while letting powder sit after brushing product into carpets. Do room by room if you have to allow for animals inside your house. After first vacuum I let the cats back in to rooms I treated. A horrible flea infestation was gone in 3 weeks. I was counting the days. I’m about to reapply to stay ahead of these buggers. My cats are thrilled too because they hated the topical medication and I hated putting it on them. A fair amount of work but so worth it!!

Fairly effective, messy

*Edit* - I have raised my review one star, because after several months leaving the powder in the carpet, we have not had ANY fleas return. So apparently this stuff really does the job over time, despite the mess. Please still read the review though!First off let me put the caveat out that this year has been TERRIBLE for fleas, even a CSR from Petmeds said as much when I called them. So I might possibly put a higher rating on this except I think this year we have super-fleas. I got my cats back from my pet-sitting inlaws after vacation and apparently their treatment had worn off early, and since the IL's animals go outside my boys got fleas. We didn't really notice until the problem was already pretty widespread, at which point I had to get a bunch of stuff to combat it (and we're not quite done yet, even). The Fleabusters powder *seems* to be fairly effective even though I wasn't able to move much furniture for the application. I purchased it for $28 with Prime shipping, which wasn't terrible but more than I thought it should cost. The list price being $109, however, I figured I'd better grab it at that cost. The container is decent sized. We have a small house, 1400 feet finished (not including basement). I didn't treat 100% of the carpet because I wanted to make sure we had some left in case of re-infestation, but I treated the areas the cats hang out in. They don't spend a lot of time upstairs except near the bathroom so didn't do a lot beyond that and the hallway. That said it does indeed seem that between the powder and repeated applications of Frontline and Sergeants, while I think there are still a few fleas around, nothing like it was. The cats were actually very crabby during the worst of it, because I believe the fleas were biting them often enough that they couldn't get a full night's sleep. At that point my husband and I even saw a couple of fleas jump on our arms etc. - plus when we tried combing the cats we found several that would run back into their fur or jump away. Since putting down the powder and using treatments on them we haven't really seen any except one or two on the cats. I still occasionally feel like maybe fleas jump on my feet or legs when at the computer for long periods but it may just be my imagination. My only real complaint about the powder is that it comes out in 'clumps', i.e. it is a heavy powder that doesn't spread well from the bottle. The instructions say to use a broom to spread it into the carpet, but one of my rooms has a very tight woven 'patterned' carpet, and it was a difficult task to get it pushed out of the pattern and into the fibers. The job probably took over an hour for just a few carpeted rooms. Also I made the mistake of leaving the ceiling fans on low while spreading the powder. I had a painter's mask on out of principle but it still stirred it up in the air so it was annoying even with the mask on. I suppose the only good thing to come of that is that as per the instructions, probably more powder made it into cracks. Definitely don't do it when children are around. I tried to keep the cats away as much as possible but could only keep them from walking on it, not being in the area. They don't seem any worse for wear, even though the instructions caution against letting them near it during application. Other cats might have problems though. So it seems like the stuff helped a lot, but the mess and time it took were a bit much. I definitely wouldn't have paid full price over say a simple fogger or whatever else is out there, but it worked pretty well for $28.
