Pricey
Tli got the shower head that uses these. I just wanted to have an extra one around because we have such hard well water. It cam incredibly fast. Within a day or two. It is rater pricey at $15.99 but it should last my husband and I at least 6 months.

I don't think this works.
The shower head came preinstalled with one of these, and I had a VERY difficult time opening it up. I went ahead and ordered one for a backup, as they weren't in stock when I first got the showerhead. This review is based on the initial filter that has been installed with the showerhead. I didn't notice any feeling of softening water on installation, but the showerhead was much different than my previous one, so I figured maybe that and less water pressure had skewed my perception. (I know what soft water feels like as my parents have always had a water softener for the last 50 years.) Anyway, I am still getting hard water scaling, some on the head itself. Granted, where I live, the water is extremely hard and poor quality, but doesn't seem to do what it claimed.
