I used cablecaster for installing cat 5 cable in hung ceilings in office space. I shot green dart to the area the tied on cat 5. Imo it really isn’t worth the money.

Q: What’s the largest fish you can catch with this?

I caught a 1100lb Marlin but it took 12 hours to reel in and a very fast boat.

Q: How high will the dart go if you shoot straight up? I have some vertical situations (25'-35') where this could be useful.

Hi... I am not sure what is the max vertical high... we make some tests and we will said that High is around 20 to 25' max., but the line make some resistance... probably with a lighter line will go further.... Thanks

you will have to arc upward to shoot it 35' away from you. Gravity will pull it down some... having said that the drop on 35 feet should not be more that 3' I have used this Cablecaster many times to hit an opening around 1 1/2' around 30-40' away with around a foot above the opening, and it may take a time or two to get it just right, but it can be done easily... Remember to pull "pull-string" back before pulling cable as the fishing line used in this Cablecaster is light for the shot but cannot pull very much weight.
