Avoid at all costs.
I have checked this on four different electric ovens and two microwaves on the "convection" mode all set at 200 C. I got varying readings between 150C and 170C . This thing is about as useful as a chocolate fire guard.

Useless
Never shows anything like the correct temperature.. 50 C out according to my oven and the external testing kit that the man from Miele used. I would expect a bit of a difference but that renders it useless. Don’t bother!

Cheap, cheerful, does the job!
I bought this oven thermometer after deciding to dabble a bit with baking, and having my first few attempts come out a bit... burned.I opted for this thermometer as it's the "leave in oven" kind, rather than the digital meter + probe type that you stick into whatever you're cooking or similar. The only criticism I have is that it can be a bit difficult to read through the oven door, because the device isn't overly large - so as not to take up too much valuable room in the oven - but also the print on the meter is smallish. That being said, I can put up with having to open the oven to check the temperature because by having this gizmo I've been able to work out how far off the temperature dial is on my oven. As a result, not only have I been able to bake cakes that were decent (for a novice baker, anyway) but I've also seen an improvement on the savoury side as well. No more dry roast chicken, because I'm actually setting the temperature correctly! If you want a simple, no frills, oven thermometer that will help you get a handle on how your oven is behaving, then you could do much worse than this one. Does one job, and does it well. Definitely worth the few quid it cost me.

Small and accurate
Main point- Unexpectedly very accurate fridge/freezer thermometer.Arrived fast decently packaged.Need to wiggle a bit to see temperature.Suction cup holder is useless. Will stay on the plastic fridge wall only for a few minutes. If you fridge equipped with wire shelves then you can hang thermometer. If it's solid glass shelves, then lying position only unless you cut of a bit of plastic to widen clip jaw as on my picture.

Great little bit of kit for accurate readings
Set your oven to 200, wait for the light to click offIt's 200 right? Not according to this, it was 170... Had to wait for it to actually reach 200.I can only guess this is fairly accurate as the task I used it for was pretty specific with temperatures and they came out perfectly

It is not easy to read
The thermometer is quite accurate as it is consistent with what I set on the oven. However, I found that it is extremely hard to read as there are two sets of numbers, Fahrenheit and Celsius. The numbers for Fahrenheit are on top and they are a lot bigger than the Celsius. My girlfriend and I keep having problem reading the temperature, especially when the oven door is not always clean and clear. There are better thermometer out there with better readings, and I am certain I wouldn’t get this one again.

Nice well made handy bit of kit
I purchased this bit of kit to check my oven temperature when I was cooking quick country style iron-pot bread. You need a hot oven and my trusty cooker is ions old and I wasn't sure of the temperature so I popped one of these into my oven and read off the indicated temperature from my widget against the 1-9 scale in my cookers handbook and I was surprised they matched very well, well within my working tolerance for this style of bread making .Word of warning .............. Don't forget to wear a pair of oven glove or what-have-you when you take the widget out of the oven .... I'm saying no more on the subject.
