The old bath drain plug lost it's "spring" - essentially refusing to pop up from the closed position. The Westbrass Bathtub Drain Stopper was a perfect fit (3/8" for me), was simple to install, operates smoothly, and does it's job without leaks. What more do you need?

I'm a real buyer/user. This looked better than the one I'm replacing from the big box store. More brass, less plastic, lower price! Only one day but so far works great.

When taking baths I need to be careful not to bump it or else it may come up and start slowly draining the bath

Replaced a broken plastic toggle stopper, the cheap kind that you push on one edge to open, the other edge to close. No instructions in this stopper package. You need to unscrew the top plastic chrome cap to expose the screw slot which you use to screw this into the drain. My drain threads were gummed up with lime, so this new stopper would not screw in low enough for the rubber gasket to stop the drain. I ran a 3/8-16 tap through the hole in the drain, then the stopper seated ok.The solid brass screw down the center feels quality. The plastic push-to-close/push-to-open click mechanism (giant version of a ball point pen clicker) feels robust. This stopper closes and opens the drain as it should.

During a remodel the plumber broke our shower drain stopper. I bought this to replace the broken one but it did not fit the screw hole inside the drain. Be careful when ordering these types of items.

Excellent item. It fit right into my tub drain, was easy to adjust to get a good se and operated easily.Used to replace original that had become difficult to operate due to age and buildup inside.
