The Art of Botanical Painting

Lovely book which was bought as a slight extravagance as I shall never need all the information in it! Pictures are wonderful and the descriptions useful for any artist starting out on a botanical drawing journey.

This is a beautiful book which assumes a basic grounding in art, so probably not great for absolute beginners. It also covers proper technical and scientifically accurate botanical art, so if you're just looking to paint pretty stylised flowers of the sort popular on social media, this might not be what you're looking for. As a serious botanical art book in the natural history sense, it is excellent.

Very pleased with this book.

Lovely book, not very much actual instruction, so not great for beginners, but includes lots of different examples of different artist's work for inspiration.

What magnificent art work and so many tips. just love the lay out and illustrations . Makes a fantastic coffee table book as well

This book is fantastic but its best is the colour mixing charts for every flower types.
