Q: Will this work with triangular-shaped regular size pencils?

I tried it on some triangular shaped Faber-Castell colored pencils and it didn't really work that well. The blade got caught on the corners.

Q: Does this sharpener work for multiple pencil sizes- in particular the larger size for more beginning writers?

Not the one that I have. The opening is just for the standard size pencil.

Q: Does this sharpen Prismacolor Premier pencils well?

Well, contrary to another answer....I don't have a problem sharpening my Prismacolor Premier. The Derwent coloursoft is a tight fit (it's thicker than prisma), but it will work. Derwent Inktense, Faber Castell polychormos, Irojeten all sharpen just fine. You do of course have to check the pencil after a few twists so you don't just sharpen the lead away.

Q: Does it sharpen using a single straight blade or the spiral Blade?

It has a straight blade that is on a little pivot so that when you "twist" the pencil back and forth....not turn round and round, it sharpens it.
