Good Camel Back Mule Replacement
Good replacement for the old, original Mule made by Camel Back. Does not leak. Mouth piece is a little odd and awkward to get use to but it works.

Fatal flaws doom this bladder.
I sincerely wanted to like this product— I had even ordered a second (which I returned) before I knew all of its shortcomings. It is not completely terrible, it does have some good points.PROS:— Wide mouth makes it easy to clean and fill— Nice sturdy mount on the plastic ring— Convenient handle on same ring— Insulated hose is nice— Having the bite valve, pull valve, and cap prevents hose leak and keeps dirt out of the mouth pieceCONS:— It is REALLY hard to get a good deal. Unless you massively over tighten the lid, it will dribble water. Then it becomes a bear to open when you need to fill or clean it.— The size is long, narrow, and thick, which makes it inconvenient for backpacking, as it creates a fat presence right down the middle of the bag and is harder to pack around. A flatter, wider design would be better.— The valve at the hose/bladder connection is prone to poor seating, which means the water doesn’t flow.— Finally, and THE WORST: The pull valve very easily pulls out of its seating, which opens up the hose completely. This happened to me twice on a multi-day backpacking trip. The first time, the bladder was full and water flew everywhere, soaking gear and emptying much of my water. The second time, the pressure was lower, and I’d learned how to contain it, so I lost less. It was just an inconvenience and an annoyance, but in a place where water is scarce, that flaw could mean life or death.Again, it’s not terrible, and I’ll continue to use it for low-stakes day hikes when I need plenty of water, but it simply is not a piece of quality gear that can be counted on when the chips are down.

What exactly does leakproof mean?
Purchase this to replace older leaking bladders. Assembled (hose and an O-ring need to be installed into the bladder after shipping) and installed readily into the existing backpack was easy and smooth. Trouble was it presented a slow leak before the end of the first day of use. Double checked assembly and was eventually able to sort with some plumbers tape. Mildly dissappointed but fixable and at the size (3L) & price point, tolerant....

you need hand strength
You do need hand strength to push the tube into the bladder but when it snaps in you can hear it in another room. Screwing on the cap to the bladder requires patience and strength at least for me . My husband had no issue. What I love is the detail of how easy the bite is without leakage as other devices would dribble and I felt compelled to bite and lift the tube back to make sure water wasn't left in the tube. The push and pull to lock the bite is so much nicer as the other thumb turn required 2 hands for me to turn. Cover cap over the bite is so nice when throwing the pack in my car I don't have to worry where the bite has landed as I've had the bite land on the tip of my hiking stick before...yuck! I have bought neoprene insulator sleeves in the past, they get dirty, slide up down the tube, and the ends wear and threads unravel. They added a rubber seal on both ends and the one closest to the bite is where the wear and tear occurs and now my fingers are on the rubber part only.

I like it, but it can be tricky to use.
First off let me say all the things I like about it. The capacity is great, 3L is awesome to have when you are deep on the trail on a hot day. The dust cover on the bite valve should be included on ever bladder. The wide fill cap makes cleaning and filling easy. The insulated hose works as it should and is easy to remove to make routing the hose through holes and loops easy. Lastly its durable and doesn't leak, so long as the fill cap is installed correctly.Onto the not so great things. The fill cap is tricky to seal correctly. I've found it easier to remove the bladder from my pack to seal the cap. Secondly this thing is big and no longer fits in the pouch in my old bag, I've had to relocate it to the main compartment on my old bag.Over all I like it.

Great
Doesn't leak.. Could use a few more instructions for using the mouth piece. Remove the plastic. Pull the bite end out before attempting to drink.

Great Bladder For The Money
Used this bladder on a mountain bike trip in the hottest months of the year. I was impressed on how well the water stayed cooler. I loved the screw type lid and had no issues with the lid leaking. The only flaw I had issues with is trying to dry out the bladder at the end of the trip. There was a small amount of water that just didn't want to vacate the bladder. Thus took longer to dry out the bladder completely. It's not a huge deal because I will wash before using again anyways. So, just really check to make sure that the bladder is really dry before storing.

The nozzle pops off easily when you're not aware
Great over all. Every now and then the nozzle will pop off. Love it over all. Use it every day.
