Straightforward guide to all of Italy
I appreciated that this book did not just focus on one region of Italy. Instead there are 19 cities and/or regions represented, and that covers a large portion of the country. Each city/region is given its own chapter. In each chapter the author looks at where to stay, what to do, where to eat, and good souvenirs to purchase in that region. This is a good amount of information to have for each city or region, especially of you will be touring several regions in one trip. After all the regions, the author looks at lists of things like the best beaches in Italy. The author also provides 10 sample itinerary. I liked that the author focused each itinerary on a different feature (for the art lover, family with kids, wine connoisseur, etc. and this allows you to see a sample plan for the kind of vacation you are hoping to have based on your interests. I thought this was a well written book and the author comes across as highly knowledgeable.

This guide contains little information. The number of restaurants covered is larger than info on other things, but little information is given about anything.

Touring Italy
I have heard a lot about Italy and some stories. With this guidebook of Italy, you can read about the history of Italy, the great cities, such as, Rome, Naples, Sicily and so many others. There are lakes and beautiful beaches, along with the best places to eat. You will find tips and advice on transportation, keeping safe, and other useful information. A nice guide for you if or when you get to travel to Italy.

Not what I expected…
….from reading the synopsis, I was expecting something a little more “meticulously researched”. This book works well for someone who has never been to Italy perhaps and doesn’t want to do their own basic research. It would be tough to be an expert on all the areas of Italy but some of the sections were very basic.

Great for vacation planning
My family is planning a trip to Europe next year and I’ve been looking for ideas on which cities to ensure we see. There are so many fascinating and historical sites that I know there won’t be enough time! This book is a fantastic resource to help you determine what each city has to offer in Italy!

A detailed travel guide
I really liked this guidebook because it includes excellent and useful travel information. It recommends beaches, cities and historical sites to visit while staying in this beautiful country. It is almost impossible to see everything Italy offers in one trip, a travel guide like this is a real boon and I found everything I needed to make my vacation a success.

A book with poor content
A book full of very short descriptions, but with poor content. One can certainly find better.
