If you own multiple models of the same guitar, you want them to have the same feel as each other, or as close as possible. Making sure the specs of a guitar's setup are within tiny fractions of an inch compared to the others you own is a great way to maximize this effect. These three tools are essential to this operation. They shorten the time and eliminate the guess work of determining the neck relief for setting truss rod tension, setting bridge saddle and pickup & pole piece height, and finding a high fret in comparison to the ones on either side of it. Even being able to check these things can be useful to someone who lacks the knowledge or confidence to make such adjustments, because you will have a much easier time explaining what you want changed when bringing it to a technician.

I started to return it since it didn't line up with my frets but saw a mention that you start in the 2nd fret. Lines up perfectly on my strat style and also my lp on the other side. All 3 tools are very sturdy stainless steel.

I would have given this set 5 stars if the straight edge was notched correctly. This would be a good kit for the price if it was not for the straight edge. This is notched wrong for Les Paul ( 24 3/4" scale ) and Strat ( 25 1/2" scale ) I had to modify it by cutting the notches to make it work on both sides. Just buy one that will work.

The straight edge Guitar Neck Straightness Check Tool: states the two sides design of the neck notched straight edge could work with most electric or acoustic guitars but will not work for standard guitars, it may work on a Childs guitar that has a smaller length fret board, this one does not work on a standard size adult guitar

Can’t use any of these 3 item like I received it I had to modified it and the mesure is so far from the reality a ruler from dollar store is more accurate than this
