Bought this as a gift to a student I am teaching her how to sew for free. She wants to learn how to repair her threadbare clothing. She wants to not have to buy and buy and buy and throw still useful things into the trash. So I got her this perfect starter set because as a tailor myself, I know she would need to have all these colors. She owns an older model sewing machine her mom (RIP) gave her and these bobbins fit her machine beautifully. She was so elated to receive this present and I’m so elated this good strong thread will go to great use. Prewound bobbins is the way to go! Saves so much time. The thread wound so smoothly and performs well with hand stitching too. Good value for the money out of my own pocket.

I like the variety of colors with matching bobbins. The thread, however, tends to break in the sewing machine. Compared to other thread when pulling it from the bottom to cut any project, it is very tight. A workaround is to loosen up the thread at the very top of the machine. It gives you slack when pulling a project forward to cut the thread. Makes it less likely to break.

This review should answer those pondering questions!! Without any detailed or descriptive reviews it’s hard to know if the thread is worth the money.I have a Singer Sew Mate 5400 (basic machine). Its has been sensitive to generic bobbins and needles. I took a gamble on purchasing the threads with the bobbins. My thought was to rewind the bobbin thread onto Singer Bobbins if these bobbins did not work. To my excitement the bobbins work in my machine. The thread tube is wide, and you might think it won’t work. As long as you have thread end holders to hold in place the thread works well! The colors are vibrant and sturdy. I do suggest using wax on the cut end.I have sewn the thread into; thin leather, silk, cotton, polyester, rayon, blends, thick heavy sweaters, blankets, fleece. And more. All has held together! Washed/dried well!I bought both the large and small rolls of thread. The scissors, needle threader and measuring tape is an added bonus that came with one set of thread. Because I wasn’t sure of the longevity I’d get from the thread. Depending on how much you sew should be your determination of which size you buy… you don’t need both sizes… I’ll have thread around longer than I will be! :)

I used this thread on a brand new sewing machine and had nothing but trouble. It wouldn't sew through knit fabric. Bunched up on the machine. And it was too thick to go through the eye of the needle on my twin swing machine needle. I had to use an old cheap thread that had no trouble fitting the needle. By the time I purchased my new sewing machine. It was too late to return all these threads. Very disappointed because it would have been wonderful to have the matching bobbins for each thread. Too bad the thread was such poor quality!!
