Can you use with solar cover on?

No, the unit can not be placed under the solar cover as it will weigh the unit down and cause it to sink.

What is the “solar cover” that has to be removed as to not weigh down the device? I don’t see anything being removed on your video.

A solar blanket/cover looks like a large sheet of bubble wrap. It effectively heats the pool water by allowing more of the sun's rays to enter the pool, while its air bubbles trap the pool's heat during the night. You should keep the cover on as much as possible between swims. Not all pools have them as you can see in our videos.

What happens when small Small animals and insects get in there? Curious how it will go with a frog going there for example.

Never had a toad or frog in my pool, but I have had lizards and insects (some large, live in Florida). The cleaner handles them fine, it just keeps running around my pool cleaning the surface.

The right paddle goes forward while the left goes back causing the skimmer to run in a tight circle, is there a problem?

As far as I can tell mine does the same thing. The older model had one blade in front and back. It would only go forward or backward. This model goes in circles too.
