EV Charger Level 2, 48A 240V Electric Vehicle Charger with NEMA 14-50 Plug, 25ft-Cable ETL Listed Home/Outdoor EV Charging Station with WiFi APP & Delay Timer, for j1772 EVSE Cars

I was looking for a 50 amp level 2 charger for my new Kia EV6. I was going to get a simple plug and play unit with no wifi/phone control. Then I saw this unit and the price was the same so I took a chance and actually returned the other, very well made, unit without even installing it. As a plug and play device, it works great and fully charges my car in about 7 hours. The unit itself was easy to install with the exception of inserting the anti-theft screw which isn't really needed anyway. Fortunately, I had some security torx bits and I was able to get it in. However, the screw at the bottom actually holds the unit securely, was easy to put in, and makes the unit difficult to remove. I'd highly recommend using a quality extension cord on any unit so you can put the NEMA 14-50 outlet in a cheaper place and be free to locate the charger anyplace. Just make sure to get a quality, 50 amp extension cord that is built with at least 6 gauge wire.

Really happy with this Aimiler EV 48A charger. I was really impressed with the gauge and quality of the cables, much heavier duty than I expected (of course to accommodate the 48A). We have a commercial charger up the street from our home that we were using, and it only charges at ~25A, and it takes all night on our Kia Niro, leaving the car overnight felt a little weird, but with this charger I can charge at a higher current giving a faster charge. I installed a NEMA 14-50 outlet in my garage, and the pig tail for the charger is short, so ensure that you install the outlet with the ground (half round pin) on the downward side of the outlet. This will allow the power cable on the EV charger to be pointing down and plug right into the outlet. I made this mistake and will correct it soon. Very impressed with the set up via the Smart Life app, very simple and easy to use, I've set it up with a lower current charge as recommended by the car manufacturer. Its also nice to be able to set up a delayed charge start time, etc. But for me it is set up for automatically starting the charge upon plugging the connector into the car's charge port. Its really that simple. Plug it in and it starts charging. I haven't taught my wife anything about the charger, she just plugs it in and it starts, you don't really even need to use the app at all, but it is nice that it keeps track of all charging events, and you have this complete history.There is really nothing that I'd change, completely happy with my purchase and would do it again.

-----------UPDATE!!!!!--------------It's now in a landfill somewhere. I kept getting a notice to update the firmware through the app. I finally decided to go ahead and install it. It ended up bricking my charger completely. There was nothing I could do to get it off the message saying "Plug in your gun". The unit was completely unresponsive and the ring light would not illuminate anymore. I tried disconnecting the power and letting it sit for a few hours, then plugged it back in. Right away that message came back, "Plug in your gun", no loading sequence or system check, the message just showed up instantly. The unit was almost acting like a fake demo version would at a brick-and-mortar store. It was brain-dead. So, I ended up throwing the whole thing in the trash and buying a cheaper unit that is WAY better. Smaller in size, better looking, and the cable doesn't fight you to the death to roll it up. I regret buying it.-----------------------------------------------------------------I had a Tesla changer for about 4 years and decided to buy a Ford Mustang Mach-E that uses a different plug. I did a lot of research and landed on this charger. Installation was relatively easy, The unit is very high quality. My only gripe, which isn't a bad thing really, is that the cable is so darn thick! It's tough to unravel and position it. It's an industrial-type cable. My Tesla cable would get hot where this one stays cool as a cucumber when charging. It looks cool and it charges my car in under 4 hours. I'm happy with it.

Bought this for our Model 3 LR AWD. Installed this in June ‘24. Gets used nightly for the Tesla and my BMW Phev. The app works great, even if there’s not a ton of functionality there. For us I use 32a max but for funsies have gone full power on the Tesla, this is through the gun to Tesla adapter of course, and it’s worked reliably without incident. Heat seems very well managed both in the unit and cable, charging is consistent. The cable length and quality feels great, and the gun mechanism works smoothly. The kids have dropped it a number of times on the cement and it’s survived the falls with only minor scuffs. Despite the relatively unknown brand and reputation prior, after 4 months daily used I’d 100% recommend this EVSE.The biggest “heh” of this unit is in the attached photo, when it’s charging it states “In the charging” which I find hilarious.
