This is an excellent french fry and vegetable cutter. It comes with three blade sizes 1/4" square (shoestring fry size), 3/8" square (fry size) and a 6 wedge apple slicer. The blades are extremely sharp, so be very careful around them. Because they are so sharp, they cut fries amazingly well and quite quickly with very little pressure or effort. I've even cut a carrot in the 3/8" cutter which makes perfect carrot sticks. The functionality of this unit is not to be argued.However, it leaves a little bit to be desired in the cleaning department. Because the blades are so sharp, it can be difficult to feel comfortable when cleaning the blades. Anything you put close to the blades will get cut, including a sponge or your fingers. When I clean the blades, I simply rinse them in hot soapy water and hope that that does what it needs to do. I also dry it with a towel as best I can.The plastic holder works quite well for holding the cutter, but the plastic holder has an inside lip design inside that holds water. Again, I simply rinse it in hot soapy water and hope that it gets clean enough. I try to shake the holder mostly dry. It's not cutting anything terribly dirty as I always wash the vegetables before cutting them, but vegetable juices do get onto it. In other words, this unit could be just a bit easier to clean.The unit does include a small comb to get into the teeth of the plastic pusher. The comb helps get any vegetable matter out of the plastic teeth. That's the only cleaning tool included in this package.Overall, I recommend this cutter if you're looking to make your own french fries. The length of the holder is great for keeping the fries straight. Some past vegetable cutters I've tried didn't have enough clearance and caused the fries to bend. This one keeps the fries perfectly straight.

The cutters are very sharp and if your not carefull you will cut yourself. I love making homemade french fries and potato wedges. nothing beats seasoning your own fries and wedges. Worth the money. You can't go wrong with this cutter. It's easy to use and the blades go right through the potatoes so easy. No effort.

Easy to use

This little french fry cutter works very well for its purposes. I damaged my mandolyn which I used mostly for french fries so I thought this would be a cheaper solution. Wish I would have waited just a bit as the price as dropped but regardless I am glad I have it. You do need to be careful handling the blades as they are very sharp and it is a challenge to clean as food can lodge in the crevices. It has a little tool to use to dig pieces out and that works just OK but it really makes good size french fries and recently discovered it has an excellent attachment for dicing onions. I recommend this product.

I've only used it for potatoes and it worked great.I like the design. I have a different style but it isn't nearly this nice.I'm very impressed.It works very well and fast.I also purchased an electric french fry cutter but this one is very handy, easy, and quick to use so it gets more use when it is just my husband and I home without any company.It is definitely easier to clean if you peel your potatoes first.I really like it.

Who are these people who think this is easy to use? I sliced potatoes, onions and a turnip into pretty thin slices and I still had to use my entire body weight to get it down (using the 1/4 blade). I'm a pretty fit 200 lb and I had to stop because I was going to throw my back out using this. Every thing gets stuck in the blade and the plate so not so easy to clean. I double checked all the photos, the videos and the reviews to see if there was something I should be doing differently but it doesn't look like there is. Returning this for sure.Side note: the company seems to strive to make it difficult to return, I guess so you’ll just keep it. Instead of being able to return it at Whole Foods (1 mi away) like usual, you must package it and return it through UPS. There aren’t many in my city so I had to drive out of the city, en route to nowhere, to return it.

Got this for my son for Christmas, he used it right away, though he did cut himself not realizing it was so sharp and it cut like butter! Works great! (no stitches were required)!

This is the best fries cutter. It works way better than the typical suction cup, push the handle, cutters that never stay still and requires too much force.This one cuts super fast and super clean. Pushing from the top helps keep the unit stable and all the force goes straight down through the potatoes. Get medium russet potatoes.They're also extremely easy to clean. Hold the unit still and twist the top counter-clockwise and it'll all snap apart. Rinse and shake and it's clean.
