Makes a HUGE difference!
I love these so much. They really transform the windows. Of all the improvements I have made on the windows (new trim, wood applique, corbels) I think these window grids make the biggest difference. My windows have moulded edges, so to get the grids to match properly, I cut them at a 45 degree angle, as you can see in the pics. It didn't fit perfectly, but it was really close: close enough for me. The provided instructions are for a 90 degree cut. One thing I learned, you have to be pretty precise on your measurements in order for the 45 cut to fit over the existing window moulding with little to no gap.I cut the grid pieces with a chop saw that had a regular blade in it and had no issues whatsoever with getting a clean cut. I did make sure and wrap the part that was going to be cut with masking tape to help keep from possible splintering or having a rough and/or broken edge and it worked perfectly.I am kind of picky, so when I inserted the grids into the cross member, the edges didn't quite line up flush, so I did lightly sand where they met and it turned out pretty good. Most people probably wouldn't notice or care though. The color of these is plain white, which would probably work in most cases. However, all my woodwork is a slightly off white, so I opted to prime and paint mine, and they look great.I chose not to use the supplied installation "brackets" because they would not look authentic. I came up with a really great way to install these without the brackets. I had some clear double sided tape on hand. It's the reusable kind where it sticks really well, but can be removed, rinsed, and reused. Basically, Alien tape. The great thing about this tape is you can adjust it slightly after install (or completely remove it and start over if needed) to get the grids just right. The tape I used is Max Strength nano-grab from Duck Tape. All I did was cut very small pieces for each end (four in my case) and it held the grids great. The tape is kind of thick, but the great thing is, the back of the grids are recessed so the tape fits perfectly in there and the grid doesn't protrude from the window glass hardly at all.I highly recommend these, and using these guidelines you can get fantastic results.

This is a great product when careful about a few things
I’m using this product to install 6 over 6 grids on several windows. Our HOA requires windows with grids, something I learned after I had ordered new windows. This product is allowing me to create those grids in my new windows.A few things are important to getting high quality DIY results.1.). It’s important to make very straight cuts of the grid material. I found it much easier to use our tile saw to get super clean, straight cuts. This way, when you use the cross to create the grid, you won’t be able to see light through the junctions. I personally found it a bit clumsy with the suggested hacksaw method.2.) There’s a few formulas in the instructions for calculating the length of each arm/grid (“profile length”). It takes into account that you will use the small end tacks (“slide fasteners”) to attach the grid to your window. I had better results when I rounded up on the profile length number (e.g. instead of 7.75” lengths, I cut 8.00” profile lengths). This gave more stability to the slide fastener/grid assembly when I attached it to the window. Remember, you can Galway's cut the profile length shorter, but if it’s too short (or almost too short), you’ll be in trouble.3.) It’s important to make the profile lengths consistently the same size, for the most professional looking results. All in all, I’m really satisfied with the results, and I’m going to order one more set to make all of the windows in the house match each other. I believe this kit is a profound improvement over the sticky roles of white tape. It may cost a little more, but the results are terrific!I would love to upload my pic of the results, but the Amazon app is giving me trouble. Sorry about that!

Awesome product
We got new windows in most of the rooms of our 1780’s farmhouse. This particular room still has older windows, which looked awful. The grid was fairly easy to measure and install and is making the whole window look like new (disregard the fact it needs to be washed). I’m very VERY happy with this purchase.

"fits some"
Listing said universal but I attempted to install on both a new and a vintage window and pure junk would definitely not recommend was a huge waste of money

Beautiful accent without buying new doors
Beautiful accent to the kitchen sliding doors! Measure twice and cut once!I read some previous reviews that were negative, but i an very pleased. Just have to be careful to cut straight lines and used a box cutter blade to smooth the edges after cutting. I highly recommend! Just take your time. I ordered 2 and that was exactly enough to complete both sliding doors (one kit per door)

Bad instructions
This product seems like it would be helpful if the instructions were a lot better. The four piece connector is very thick and hard to fit in the white pieces- within the instruction manual that is not explained at all. I don’t recommend buying.

Spruce up your window
This product is easy to install and looks great on our windows. Suggest using electric saw to cut piece.

Excellent
The product worked well. Used a hacksaw to cut the parts. To help in connecting the cross clips, stick a pen in the end of the attachment for 5 seconds. Pull out the pen then attach the cross section.
