This jam block sounds good, no complaints at all. Sadly, the fixing screw is really of bad quality: if you don't replace it, this entire thingy will fall or at least will turn freely. Luckily to replace it is easy and inexpensive. Annoying anyway, but it has solution.

This sounds exactly like you want a jam block to sound: loud, clear, and cutting. The plastic is durable enough to take its hard knocks (which you want for anything percussive). However, you're going to want to replace the mounting screw, which does a pretty lousy job of holding the block in place once it's mounted (it's a quick and cheap fix, but not one you should have to do, which is why I deducted a star).

I've bought a few of these over the years as a timekeeper for teaching marching band (I clamp them to a handle), and this should serve that purpose well for me. The nice, thick lip on the top surface should help with durability AND it doesn't chew up the drumsticks.This is a lower pitch than some of the other jam blocks I've tried, but it would still fit well in various styles as a drumset accessory as well.
