Observing several things as a manager is important. I can know what manager mind is at a few hours.

Knowing nothing about the discipline of management prior to reading this book, I now have a much better grasp of it. And I have a much better idea of which texts, studies, and authors to follow up on if I want to learn more. Thank you Oxford U Press and Professor Hendry!

This book gives a good overview of all aspects of management in a very well written and concise manner. Informative, well researched and enjoyable to read due to the straight and simple style of writing used to explain complex ideas effectively.Very pleased with this purchase and delivered promptly in perfect condition too.

Ich habe mir dieses Buch auf Empfehlung des Profs geholt (Int. Management) und bereue dies keinesfalls.Sehr interessant und z.T. unterhaltsam geschrieben. Auch wenn es nur 120 Seiten umfasst, gibt es einensehr guten Überblick und fasst die wichtigsten Themen/Theorien/Modelle ausreichend zusammen.Natürlich kann man hier keine Vollständigkeit erwarten - man schaue sich einfach die Standardwerke mit 1000+ Seiten an.Jedoch liefert der Autor eine sehr gute Verknüpfung der gesamten Thematik und ermöglicht einemdas "Big Picture" zu verstehen.

I really like this book. It is an introduction to management that doesn't presuppose the assumptions of many other introductions to management. For example, that the reader wants to be a manager or a successful business person and would like a guidebook on how to do that. I read this in the Summer, before taking a University elective in management, and found it extremely useful. That is perhaps a good target for this book. People who want to learn about the modern phenomenon of management, what it is, how it emerged and how it is practised differently around the world. As opposed to a text book on how to manage.
