I come home from work, throw my shirt, pants, tie and jacket on the nicely-made bed in favor of shorts and a "T" to start my evening chores. But, since I found this very-cool extendable closet rod, all that has changed. Now, I throw my shirt, pants and everything else over the closet rod and keep the nicely-made bed, well . . . nicely made. Hey, I already said I'm not Mr. Wonderful! The rod was easy to install, is very heavy-duty, extends more than enough for an entire outfit including tie and belt, and extends and contracts about 10", so not to get it the way in a tight closet. My wife likes it so much, she even added it to the house tour when friends stop by.

Wasn't sure how much weight this would hold especially with the little screws supplied with it, but I have 4 pairs of jeans, a denim jacket and several blouses hanging on it and it seems as solid as needed and able to support more. A little spendy for one piece, but I'm getting another for the other bedside cabinet I'm installing. Good for small homes with limited hanging space and shallow cabinets. Currently refurbishing a small camper and I think it would be a great space saver for that as well.

I kept my expectations low and it exceeded them. I can hang 7 items on it (I think the description says 6 but I managed 7) and it seems to be holding up well. I put 7 pairs of jeans on it and it hasn't bowed or failed to function. Retracted, it is about 14". Fully extended it is exactly 24".My only gripe is that the 4 included screws are in my opinion very undersized. I have a lot of experience in construction and carpentry and I believe these screws would eventually tear out with regular use. I opted to install it with longer screws for better durability.

The portion used to pull the rod out comes completely off, causing the clothes to fall. Won’t stay attached. Only used for one month. Do not buy.

the screws included were completely useless and didn't fit the rod. the ledge around the screw hole, where the screw head sits, is so narrow that screws that fit snugly (not included) into the sink hole… still drilled PAST the ledge and came into contact with the wood shelf.I went on a scavenger hunt to find screws that -actually fit this rod. although the listing describes this rod as “heavy duty”, I wouldn't trust it for more then light duty.I rated this rod 2 stars because the mounting hardware and screws provided rendered this rod functionally useless. even after going on a scavenger hunt for compatible parts, it will not operate as promised… but it’s good enough for a few pieces.I was expecting more, but a few pieces is good enough.

I had a not so deep armoire that I wanted to convert to a closet. It wasn't deep enough for hangers so I decided to buy two of these. They look great! But I question their sturdiness for some reason. Time will tell but that's what I feel. It was the only thing I could come up with last minute.

I purchased this to gain extra space in an ikea closet and it works well. I can pull it out to see all my blazers and keeps them neat and organized.
