Everyone, most of the reviews sound like y'all think this is a type of filter media. IT'S NOT!!! This is not intended to replace any of your bio media or sponges. This is just to jump start your bacteria growth. Same idea as using a bottle of Quick Start. These balls dissolve over a short period of time releasing your starter bacteria. You don't need to fill up an entire tray with these. Please read the product description before ordering way to many and making a huge costly mistake. My opinion, I would only use these when first establishing a new tank or changing over to a different type of filter media and needed some added bacteria.
