Q: Would this be ok over tiles

It's pretty sticky so assuming they were cleaned it would probably work, but if the tiles were in an area that could get wet the water would probably get in around the edge.

Q: Has anyone used this to cover a hole in bathroom door

I used it to cover a bedroom cupboard, which was brown and didn't fit in. It's pretty adhesive so would probably work but I'd put something in the hole first to give this something to adhere to. Perhaps try tracing round the hole then cutting either stiff board or thin ply to the same shape and stick that onto this material before placing this over the hole.

No it's not shiny, but it is smooth. I've covered a chest of drawers and it looks matt.
