Winado23" Electric Fireplace Insert Log Heater, Portable Fireplace with Realistic Ember Bed, Overheating Protection, Remote Control, CSA Certified 1400W Black

I have a faux fireplace in my bedroom and I bought this one as a replacement for my previous one. The heater has really come in handy on these cold days and it works extremely well.

The media could not be loaded.  When I first opened the package and saw this, I was kind of laughing. It's not very realistic. It's the kind with a colored lamp-reflecting rolling piece behind/beneath the plastic log forms (see second photo). But it's still charming, and fun if you really want some kind of fireplace ambience. If you add an inexpensive white noise machine with crackling sounds, it can sort of catch you off guard and out of the corner of your eye, seem convincing. Or if you're falling asleep. When I bought them, the two together still cost only about 60% of the price of a fancier model flame log heater with sound. And then you also have a white noise machine for when you don't use the log heater. Speaking of which, I can't evaluate the heater function, because we're not using it. The setup in the video would be unsafe if you used the heater, because you need space behind and around the unit. For the price, just the look has definitely made me happy enough.

So far so good. We really like it, we ended up inserting it inside of the fireplace and it looks like a real thing minus the smoke and the mess

This "faux" fireplace heats my whole first floor! I love it, but the plug itself gets very hot. I worry it will set my Christmas tree and all the gifts on fire! I should find a different outlet, but that won't keep it from getting hot. I love this item and I don't want to return it! I'll just take my chances.

It’s very functional, gives off a warming glow and heats up a small area.

This product is very nice. I have not tried the heat but the different types of flame is very nice. Looks very cool in my fireplace. Remote only works up close.
