Not broken! Well labeled and packaged.
I was really concerned reading the prior feedback about poor packaging. I fully expected to have to send back a broken sink, so I gave myself lots of lead time to do this before my install date. But this problem must have been resolved, perhaps based on the previous feedback. The package arrived clearly labeled as fragile and well padded. Perfect condition! it is a beautiful sink, and from the top-shelf of manufacturers you can trust. Before I ordered I comparison shopped this sink and this is by far the best price I could find. I did order an upgraded sink strainer, but it does come with one, which I was not expecting. You will be happy.

Cracked sink
I bought this sink 2 years ago. It is beautiful and exactly what I wanted. After a year this crack appeared. We have no idea what caused it. My husband called American Standard to find out how to repair this crack. They told him it had been over a year so the warranty was over and they couldn't tell him how to repair it. We paid over $700 for this so I do have a bit of an issue with it. The crack is 6 inches long and very noticeable. It does not leak underneath but is ugly.

Love this sink!
We purchased this sink to use as a "fancy" utility sink in our laundry room. Our house is 160 years old so even the laundry room needs to have old farmhouse character. This sink is wonderful. It is big and open and with the faucet we used (shown in many of the photos-the one that is an arc instead of straight out) there is plenty of room to put a bucket in the sink to fill it up. The only difficulty was retrofitting a standard kitchen sink base cabinet to support the sink. It was necessary to frame it with 2X4's to support the weight. Then I cut the front "drawer" section out and used it to create 2 small inserts to each side of the front of the sink to frame it. It sounds complicated, but I'm not much of a carpenter and I was able to do it. It was a bit of a challenge to cut the curve of the counter top to wrap around the front of the sink, but I'm really pleased with the finished look. There are other ways to mount the sink, but I wanted the look of the cabinet. Also, we needed to purchase some right angle adapters for the faucet because this sink is designed for a wall mount installation. I built an extension between the back of the sink and the wall because typical counter depth is deeper than the sink and I wanted the front of the sink to be flush with the cabinet. Not sure how to attach the photo so my description makes more sense, but I will try.All said and done, this is a great sink for the price.

Pretty isn't everything
Very pretty installed, but we had a crazy time getting there. It is very heavy, and if you are doing the self rimming install, make sure your cabinet is up to it! Ours was not so we did almost a vessel sink install, even then we had all sorts of trouble with getting the garbage disposal mounted, and last but not least, only two weeks into having it a hairline crack showed up on the back side of it. We have treated it according to the instructions, and it's just not as sturdy as our old Kohler cast iron sink. The look is there but it has frankly been a headache. Now we are crossing our fingers that the crack doesn't grow or leak...

AS stands behind their product!
First one arrived shattered into 1 million pieces - resent second one is super padded box inside of a padded box. Installed and looks great!after just past 1 year warranty, sink gained a crack in the porcelain across the bottom and up the back... this by pouring a pan of hot water down the drain :( - luckily, American Standard stands behind their products solid!
