Excellent value!!
Easy setup. Worked flawlessly for the first two months- still charging strong. Auto float is exactly what we needed.

Very lite and slightly bendable
Used it for my RV trailer batteries, two 100AH AGM's. They were reading 11.43 volts when I hooked the charger to them. The charger I was using before, wasn't bringing them up. I let it sit for almost two weeks and when I checked them, they were at 12. 43. A nice slow charge that wont over do it, plus it has a built in charge controller. Working great for me!!

Easy to install but be aware that it would be easier to install if suction cups were taller.
Honestly it works so that is the main thing. The only improvement they should make to it is to provide taller suction cups to attach it so it wouldn't have to bend backing material because circuit box plastic gets wedged between backing material and glass of windshield. I don't actually attach suction cups to glass because I don't want to stress backing material since it has the solar panel on it. Kind of an obvious error in fitment that would be caught if they had tried to install it on a glass surface. Still charging works great so that is the most important point to me. I would give it 5 stars on easy to install if it had taller suction cups. I just rest it against the propped open hood to charge and don't use the suction cups to hold it. Those using it for long term use may find this to be a reason to look for another model or think about dealing with the too short suction cups issue?? You've been warned about an issue on an otherwise great product. Product works great in actual use trickle charging battery. I have the 10W model. I don't know if all size panels have the same suction cup issue or not?

Great Solar Charger
My experience with solar chargers started about a year ago. I had a 5 watt charger that a friend had given me for my generator battery. I never used it for that.Fast forward one year later - I have since retired and my truck sits in my driveway a lot more than it used to. My battery kept going dead so I tried the 5 watt charger and waited a week to see if it either worked or if my battery was dead again. To my surprise it worked! My truck started right up but the problem was that the old battery was 4 years old at that point and I knew that this was going to keep happening unless I either went back to work or I was going to keep the solar charger on my truck battery. The sun and the heat warped my 5 watt charger so I needed a new one. I saw this one and it was on sale at the moment I purchased it here on Amazon. You should know that any solar charger you buy will be subjected to extreme heat and light so please keep that in mind when you buy one of these things. I recently went to remove mine during a hot afternoon and nearly burnt myself because the unit was so hot after being on my dashboard in the midday sun in front of my dashboard heat shield (see pic).20 watts seems to be the limit for a solar charger before it needs a separate controller to regulate the flow of power to what whatever it is you're charging. Also for those who care at 20 watts the charger is putting out about one amp of DC electricity which would be the equivalent of a trickle charger output from a battery tender.I like this unit because the solar panel is flexible instead of being rigid or made from hard plastic like my 5 watt charger. The holes in each corner give you the flexibility on how you want to position for maximum sunlight exposure. In my case I laid the panel down on my dashboard and put my big sunshade behind it to protect the dashboard and interior of the truck from the heat and sun fade. The sunshade keeps the panel propped up for best sun exposure.I didn't write the review until I tested it out the same way I tested the 5 watt panel, by waiting a week to see if my new battery (Northstar AGM- NOT RECOMMENDED due to it going dead within 10 days of inactivity and VERY poor warranty support-see my review) would be able to start my truck (Nissan Murano). The Murano has a 3.5 liter engine, not a big engine by any standard yet I have to keep a solar charger on it in order to prevent the battery from draining on me.The charger has been on my truck for about 3 weeks now and whenever I decide to go for a drive my truck starts right up with no issues. I disconnect the charger before I start the truck and when I come home I reconnect it. A bit of a pain in the neck but it guarantees that my truck will always start no matter how long it sits in my drivewayI can see this charger might have other uses too. It could be used in a camping situation to charge battery packs or an emergency situation as well. The only minor quibble I have is that the panel does come with a small controller attached to the back to let you know that the charger is charging. There are 3 lights on this little controller. One to let you know that it's receiving sunlight so that it can function. Another LED to let you know that it's charging whatever battery you have it attached to. Then there is a third LED, a green one. Once an item is fully charged the green light is supposed to come on. I have yet to see this green light come on but the charger does work as it's intended.Update 5-29-21- The green light on the controller does appear to function! I noticed the other day after having my truck sitting with the charger attached the green light on the back of the solar panel was on! Apparently my battery must have been low and it took time for the charger to top off the battery.Highly recommended--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I rely heavily on reviews when I make purchases so I put some time into reviewing everything I buy on Amazon for personal or business use so I can help other people considering that item. If you found my review helpful, please consider hitting the "helpful" button below when it asks if the review is helpful. Thank you!

Great solar charger
For a maintenance charger it works great. I put it on my old truck that hardly ever gets used, battery is usually always to low to start the truck. I connected the solar panel, battery was dead, let it charge for 3 days and it had charged it enough to start the truck. I highly recommend, wish I had done this a long time ago.

Be carefull about which connector you use
Originally to get the immediate use from these (I ordered two), I simply attached the cigarette lighter connector to the panel and plugged it in. This worked perfectly. So recently I decided to use the direct battery connector so I could just unplug the panel when I didnt need it, but when I went to connect it, I noticed the red wire (positive) from the panel was connecting to the black wire side of the direct battery connector plug. This would result in battery current flowing backwards through the panel. I know this as I have a good sized solar setup on the house going to batteries. The lighter plug seems to be wired correctly as red connects to red. In all the other plugs for direct connection to the battery or the alligator clips to the battery, the connection would be red to black, which would be a bad thing.I could simply reverse the direct battery plug to connect the black to the battery positive and red to the battery negative, but people who dont know may find themselves dealing with a direct short, possibly burning up the panel or worse. I suppose most people would use the lighter plug connection, and that seems to be the only correct one, but I do wonder about the others. i did verify this with a multimeter as well, the panel is putting out 17 volts, and red is positive.

Nice for camping.
The solar panel is nice sized and it actually charges at a higher volt than it says. Nice for the camping trips that doesn’t have electric. Feels like it will be durable. Great value! I will update as time goes by.

30 Watt 12 Volt Solar Trickle Charger for RV or Car Battery
This solar panel is slow charging my truck battery and is able to keep it maintained. I am running 2 Garmin dash cams (front and rear) while the truck is parked. I leave these cameras running 24/7 for the security of my truck when parked outdoors. The cameras will save the video if there is any disturbance. The two cameras when standby and simply monitoring pull about 1/2 Amp from the battery. Over a number of days when the truck is parked the battery can start to run down because of the dash cams. This panel in full sun light is putting out about 2.4 Amps. On a bright cloudy day it is putting out anywhere from about 0.8 Amps to about 1.8 Amps depending on the density of the clouds. In most cases during the day this panel is maintaining the cameras to prevent the battery from being run down. When it is putting out more than about 1.5 Amps it is trickle charging the battery. The vehicle phantom current from its own electronics is about 0.06 Amps average. The user manual indicates after about 2 weeks of vehicle non use the battery may be run down. When parked for more than a few days the battery should have a charger connected to it.--In most of the Japanese vehicles the 12 Volt cigar lighter socket turns off with the key. With most of the US vehicles the 12 Volt cigar lighter socket remains live. In some of the Japanese SUVs and trucks they offer both a switched 12 Volt cigar lighter socket, and one that is always on.In my truck I have an always on 12 Volt cigar lighter socket. Also, you can have your dealer wire in a fuse protected auxiliary 12 Volt socket for you. They can also wire in a pair of 12 Volt wires and you can custom connect them to the panel or operate any other type of 12 Volt devices.--I would recommend this solar panel for battery maintenance. I found with the proper adapters it would be possible to put a number of these panels in parallel to have higher current.I have a friend with a large mobile trailer home and he wired up 20 panels in parallel to charge a bank of 12 Volt Lithium ION batteries. He is able to run his lighting, a computer, an RV fridge, and an HD TV with a sound system. All is using 12 Volts. His cooking and grilling is using propane.
