Magnifying Glass, LED 3X Magnifying Lamp USB Powered Clip On Optical Glass Magnifier Lens with 2 Adjustable Light Settings & Metal Clamp

I received this LED magnifying lamp today and have already used it.I bought it to help me with soldering circuit boards.It's perfect for electronics and general hobby use.It gives out a really good amount of light and illuminates my work perfectly - I only need to use it on the lower setting.The magnification is just right for me, and the lens is clear.The clamp is also very strong - which is a good thing.The overall quality is good.I measured the power cable as being 1.6 meters long - approx.Very happy with purchase and would recommend.

Bought this to help with my embroidery projects, when lighting is lousy, and it's impossible to do really fine detailed work. It didn't take me long to realise how brilliant this item is going to be. It takes a while to get it into the perfect position for working, and in some ways, I think it would benefit from a longer goose-neck. But it's early days, for what I think is a really brilliant, useful, must have Art & Craft item. For the price, it's good value too. If you love to do Art and Craft work, I highly recommend this.

There are similar clamping illuminated magnifiers around but don't waste your money: this is the one you want.Why? Because it has a convenient high and low illumination rocker switch which doubles or halves the number of onboard LEDs used. It offers satisfyingly bright or moderate illumination as needed, and as it recieves its power from a USB socket there's no charging involved, so no down time. It just operates like a regular lamp in that regard. The illumination levels and maginfier quality makes PCB work easy on the eyes. The jaws of the clamp are solid, too. Why settle for less?

Although it's cheap, it feels sturdy. The goose-neck holds is shape, the clamp grips hard, and the switch engages with a nice, positive thunk. The lens is not large, and focus is not uniform across the whole surface. However, it's large enough for looking at the insides of watches, or electronic components.The magnification varies according to how far above the workpiece the lens is. Whether you will be able to get full magnification depends, I think, on your own eyesight. I can not, I suspect, with or without my spectacles on. However, I doubt that is the fault of the unit. I get best focus when the lens is positioned to give a magnification of x2.The lamp is supplied with a sort of bag to cover and protect the lens. But at this price, does it really matter?One point to note -- although this lamp is powered by USB, it has no batteries of its own -- I've gotten used to things that plug into a USB charger actually charging, like my phone. Presumably I could plug it into a separate USB power pack if I wanted to use it away from an outlet.I doubt this unit will ever become a family heirloom, but I certainly recommend it on price if your needs are not highly demanding.

Magnification is ok, Im not sure if it's 3x the lens is meant to be 3.5 but as it has a massive thick plastic cowl over it it's covered and therefore reduces the size of the lens. and the focal length is not great. The positive thing's are that the clamp is solid as well as arm. It stays in place. Marked for 1 star due to the lens not being a full 3.5 inch but a 3.5 inch lens covered The light is good with two different light powers. Also can be powered from any usb device ie phone chargers, computers etc.

I was immediately impressed with the quality of this lamp which seems well made. I wanted it for my cross stitch projects, to clamp to my floor frame. It is just about long enough to clip to the upright on the stand and bend over the top, to view the top half of my canvas, but to work further down, I need to clip it to the frame itself which is not ideal because this lamp is fairly chunky and heavy. The neck is strong enough to support the head if it is reasonably vertical, but clipped to the side of my embroidery frame, with the neck horizontal across my canvas, it isn't strong enough to support the head. However, with some fiddling, I can usually find some way to get it stable, so although ideally the head would be a little lighter for my needs, I am very happy with this lamp. The two levels of brightness are very useful, the magnification is just right, and the clamp is very strong. Be aware though, that it only comes with a USB on its power cable, so an adapter will be needed to plug it into and ordinary wall socket.

I paint 28mm figures and this light is spot on. Has two different light settings, I find the lowest setting perfect. Length of cable is good as well. The magnifying lens is good, non adjustable but great for my needs. The clamp is nice and strong and the stalk is very flexible but holds in position when set. Had it now for a couple of months and have used loads, light is still working great, this was my biggest worry. I am going to order another as back up today. After all, nothing lasts forever
