Applied Probability Models with Optimization Applications (Dover Books on Mathematics)

Exactly what I expected, the title says it all. Works as a great book after being familiar with stats/probability. I would not suggest applied probability if you are not familiar with statistics. This is a next step after the introductory level.

This book provides remarkable examples and applications of Markov Decision Processes. But if you looking for the classical material on inventory decision or financial investments, maybe you must look other textbook.As say another reader, this book is perfect for a stochastic optimization course, but beware, the subjects and the examples aren't painless.Regarding the price, it is very convenient.

If you are looking for Markov Decision Process's equations and examples, I highly recommend this book with its low price.

Great resource for building probability models.

I am disappointed a little because I needed more details on this subject.However, this is great introductory book on the topic.Will be great for someone who studies 'probability and optimization' or 'Stochastic optimization', for the first time.

This book weighs to heavily on examples from finance and economics. I was hoping to see more examples from the sciences.

Ok textbook but useful reference for any graduate math or stat person.
