Good value.
The catalytic converter on my useless turd (2004 Subaru Forester) needed to be replaced so that I could pass inspection and get rid of the CEL. This was so much cheaper than the ones sold at the dealer or at auto parts chains. And it worked. After installing this the car started running better, the CEL light turned off and it passed inspection! The fit was not exact, but close enough. Very happy with this purchase.

Great part and price
Hardware may need to be reused from previous cat. The springs could be compressed but they are too large. Aside from that make sure the blank holes are secure and it's been great. Much better than stock 01 forester

02 Legacy GT Wagon (Modifications required.)
The shipping was great. The construction seemed very durable. Looks cool I guess. & Comes with all the hardware.[First]: The front flange on this converter is way too BIG, but it'll do with the provided gasket (which is way BIGGER than the flange on the Cat and Front Y pipe. Lol) I couldn't use the original bolts because those were rusted; So I had to buy new ones, only because the provided ones were too BIG for the holes.[IMPORTANT part of First]: The O2 Oxygen sensor furthest from the front flange will not go into the Cat unless you cut a piece out of the transmission cross member. It blocks the O2 Sensor and thus makes the flanges not flush. So you will need a Cut-Off wheel or whatever to cut a small chunk out, just enough so the O2 Sensor has room to sit upright out of the Cat. Or if you can cut and weld, then just reposition the the flange on the cat.*I also recommend replacing sensors. (Expensive, varies about $200 total for both sensors on the front Cat.)*No sensors needed on rear cat unless your model requires it.****My model is a(2002 Subaru Legacy GT Wagon 2.5L - manual)****[Second]: The middle bracket hole does NOT line up and is way too LONG. Might have to drill a hole. Make sure it is positioned right otherwise you'll be dealing with rattle from the heat shield against your resonator pipe or catalytic converter, like me lol. Still gotta tweak that and check for other rattles afterward.(UPDATE: I used some Boom Mat from AutoZone for sound dampening. And it's adhesive so I stuck it to the pipe and the heat shield it was rattling on. Very noticeable difference. Still rattles a little bit tolerable. It's because of the angle of the flange I'm sure. It makes it hug the driver side of the middle heat shield by the rear of the resonator pipe.)[Third]: The back on mine was way easier to remove than the front. It fits great at the flange. I recommend using the original spring bolts and nuts from that side. The new ones they provide are too skinny for the holes and will not allow the springs to sink down. Maybe you can use the new springs with the old bolts. Not sure. I used the old ones.[Fourth]: It turned off my Check Engine light which is great! Better acceleration overall and NO CE light! In my final opinion, you should invest in a more expensive converter that fits OEM exactly if you can afford to. But this will do on a budget. Let's see how long it will last.*Only has been Day ..(um idk lol) after it being installed.**Will update this regularly!**Update* *11-6-2022*I sold the car. Well actually I traded it in to get a 2014 Subaru Forester XT Touring lol I love it so far. Sorry I couldn't keep up with the updates. But that is the end of this review!

Good bang for buck
Well it's inexpensive and fit perfectly. But still have the dreaded p0420 code so looking elsewhere. But so far with 2000 miles on it it's still working good no rattles. But the hardware sucks and the gasket is wrong all to big for an 05 outback

Poor quality
Have an 04 forester. The gaskets it came with were wrong and required modification and the 02 bung is in the wrong location but was able to make it work. Then 3 months later there’s a big leak as the mount is cracking off

Great deal
Great fit, came with all the gaskets and hardware. I had to reuse the old nuts and bolts on the upstream because the bolts that came with were to big, no big deal.I watched a video that warned about bad welding on these cheaper cats but these were nice and the gaskets got well. Great deal, thank you.

Poor fitting from inaccurate manufacturing
The only way to really know if this part fits is to remove the old and install. Then the issues become apparent. And you are now committed to the repair. This catalytic system is built strong and supplied with all the parts needed for the replacement. But slight differences in angles and welds made this repair almost impossible.- Upstream and downstream sensor placements are not the same as original Subaru's. I had to cut away some of the car's aluminum exhaust shielding for new cat to fit.- Assembled starting at the manifold exhaust down to muffler. The final connection to muffler section was off by 2 inches. This was a huge difference! Only with enormous effort, pry bars, and extra help was I able to move the cat into it's holding bracket. This placed high tension on the whole system from the manifold and down.- The supplied bolts (standard) to secure the cat to the manifold exhaust were larger than the existing holes. Had to search around town to find the correct metric match to the old ones (which were badly rusted). In the end, the incorrect angle of the cat's welded angles put incredible tension on the exhaust system. The engine cat codes did go away with this install, but due to the tension, it has introduced a leak somewhere in the exhaust system. Now the vehicle has a louder exhaust sound from under the car.I would not recommend this product. What should have been a 2 hour repaired turned in to 2 days of part searching, modifications, prying, frustrations. I thought I would try my luck on this cat. Guess I drew the short straw.
