Dump Dinners, Quick and Easy Dinner Recipes by Cathy Mitchell

When I saw "Dump Dinners' I expected to find recipes that called for dumping in a can of this, a can of that, and then throw in some uncooked rice or macaroni. This had recipes that called for far more complicated steps than what I just described so I never used any of the recipes and sold the book at a garage sale.

Some of these recipes take a bit more time than you might think by the time you measure everything and get it prepped and mixed. She uses a lot of the same ingredients, just mixed and matched in different ways, many of them from boxes or cans. If you were to cook only from this book, your shopping list would be short and the same week after week. The dishes are simple and straight forward but there still are dishes to be washed, about the same number of them as most other recipes from other places. I made one of the recipes the other night, the Beefy Biscuit Bake and it was quite good, great comfort food as they all seem to be.

I bought my wife the softcover version of this book in 2008. It started showing signs of wear so I ordered this one for it. She loves it as much as she loved the first one. She's used some of the recipes in this book many times. They are quick and easy to make with a minimum of items needed. I definitely recommend this one.

I use this all the time. The recipes are easy and very delicious.

I've read several of her other books and they were pretty good for their type. This one feels like it was written very hastily and I probably will pass it on to someone else.

It doesn’t show pictures of all recipes and it seems to be an outdated cookbook

My grandson complained that he was tired of the recipes he has been making for the lasts 7 years. It seemed he always had to go to the store. So I sent him this recipe book as I already had it. He thinks it is great!

I have made several recipes from this book and the have all been hits with my family. I often don't find recipes that my family enjoys from books that just share assembled recipes from people's random submissions. I really found value in her time saving tips and recipes in the front of the book. You then use those time savers throughout the recipes in the book for easy preparation. I've made a number of these recipes using different preparation devices like the Ninja 3 in 1 cooking system or my casserole sized crock pot or even just in the microwave using my Tupperware micro cooking dishes.

A friend had this book - and after I saw what it offered I had to get it! Lots of easy, delicious desserts easily made with few ingredients. Sorry I didn't find it sooner....
