Great model for first timer
This is an excellent model although it does need 6 batteries to work. Great model for first timer with the extra play value as it runs via mobile phone app

It’s another Lego product
Cool little motor, really easy to connect, it’s not fast but battery life makes up for it,

Great design but don't expect a real off roader
Great design, challenging enough for my 9 year old to last a few days to put together. The remote control part is great too, we enjoyed driving out around the house. One thing to be aware of - the engine isn't all that powerful so don't expect to be able to drive this at speed in an of road environment. It works really well on carpets and hard floors, but driving up steep slopes or through grass or soft sand it really struggles.Still an excellent toy and makes a great gift

I would recommend this Buggy for LEGO enthusiasts or anyone that likes building working models.
LEGO 42124 Technic Off-Road BuggyI write this review as I work through the building process, I will add to it as the assembly progresses over, what I expect to be, a few sessions.Opening the outer colour printed box reveals several plastic bags full of multi-coloured parts (374 pieces apparently). I couldn’t help thinking that this is probably not the best way to package so many small parts. The bags are not resealable and unless you are careful it could be easy to misplace some parts especially the very small ones. With this in mind, I quickly transferred all the parts into some empty plastic containers, sorting some of the colours in the process. Not having built any of this type of LEGO kits before, I thought I would do well to follow the instruction book, which incidentally is very good.Putting the parts in containers is a good idea but the problem remains that there are so many parts that look similar it can take quite some time to find the right parts. If anything, this is what slows my progress the most, for once I have the parts, it takes seconds to assemble them. Having well drawn illustrations in the manual helps enormously when trying to get the orientation of the parts right, it consists almost entirely of step by step drawings showing what parts are required and how they go together. Without this, it would be easy to get some things assembled incorrectly. After four or five fairly short sessions, I finally managed to get the whole model assembled and it does look splendid. Installing the control app on my iPhone and linking it to the Buggy, were the next steps that went without any hitches. A bit of trimming to adjust the steering into the middle position and away it went.I would say this is an ideal project for a young person (or a young at heart person). It keeps you occupied for quite a while and you need to concentrate to make sure you select the right components at each stage of construction. Everything fits together perfectly and securely so it should take a few knocks without any major damage. However, there are kits of spare parts available in case you do break something.I enjoyed building this Off-Road Buggy and I would recommend it for LEGO enthusiasts or anyone that likes building working models.

Wow this is amazing engineering and a great controlling app via your own smart device
This is an amazing scale RC car that uses your smart device as the controller. It took me about 2 hours to build and the instructions are very easy to follow step by step. If you make a mistake they pull apart and you can correct as you go. This is a fantastic addition to the lego technics range. The app is in your play store on your smart device and you can check compatibility first, then install the app. The app is well engineered, personally though its insistance on the training is a little annoying for first use as you have to do it. I dare say this isnt overzealous programming more perhaps a safety/legal driver. Once past that i love it, its well engineered uses blue tooth so you get a good range from most smart devices (my tablet was comfortably driving the car up to 25m away). Braking is fast, and the fine speed control amazing. It self calibrates too so the steering required no further fine adjustment. The power pack is 6 AA batteries and they last a long time if quality alkali's are used. I was pleased to see the app is designed to control a whole range of other Technics robots and devices. A really positive step up for Lego Technics and the performance around the house and outside was amazing. I really like this well engineered car and app. Hopefully as this range develops the price hopefully will come down; that said this is very well engineered parts and it is worth its cost. Happy to highly recommend, Andrew.
