Beautifully packaged, wrapped, great tasting rich high quality and original Easter egg
This is a beautifully packaged egg, wrapped nicely inside. It's very heavy and dense which gave the impression that it's FULL of Peanut butter - and it IS full of Peanut butter with very thick chocolate. The chocolate isn't chalky and of low quality as American chocolate usually is, but creamy and smooth and of high quality and it's thick! The Egg is very rich, very rich - it's not something you could clock in a sitting or even two - this was eaten slice by slice and enjoyed as it's delicious and rich, with nice Peanute butter and creamy thick chocolate. This isn't a huge Egg as Easter Egg's usually are - but this more than makes up for it in the fact that it's rich, is dense and full of peanut butter with thick creamy chocolate and is good to slice/cut and share as it's rich and lasts a long time! Some reviews state the chocolate comes apart from the Peanut butter - and this was not true in my case.I delicately sliced it, and with a sharp knife it doesn't come apart. And the Peanut butter isn't perfect according to My Missus (who I bought it for) says it not as salty as she'd have liked.Well, I think it's perfect, so much flavour, so rich, with the right texture - real high quality! All in all a beautifully packaged, wrapped, great tasting rich high quality and original Easter egg which is so much better than most and extra special for that special person.

This is delicious. I bought it for my husband for Easter as more of a grown up treat and it's amazing. We tried the mint one and it's very tasty. It also lasts ages as even though it's small it's solid chocolate. Would purchase again in the future and would like to try other flavours.

Would have loved to try it but wouldn't risk reordering again in ...
Lovely looking egg , I bought as an Easter gift for my Husband, But unfortunately the package was damaged and the chocolate was exposed so had to send it back for a refund.. Would have loved to try it but wouldn't risk reordering again in case the same thing happened and these eggs are not cheap! I gave one star because of the broken packaging.

Good flavour but not exceptional
Much smaller than expected as it is quite dense

Great novelty Easter Egg experience
I bought this as a gift in maple nut flavour. It was a very nice solid egg, a bit like a cake and was very well received. It is quite small in size for the price, but it it very rich in flavour. We split the egg in half to eat eat it over 2 days between 2 people, it didn't last very long but was extremely filling! Would buy again in different flavours if it was bigger, but worth the novelty as I haven't seen anything similar elsewhere.

Brillaint
This is the nicest chocolate egg I've ever had. I love how it's completely filled, I've always found hollow eggs annoying. The filling is so yummy and the chocolate is gorgeous. And most importantly it doesn't taste synthetic and it isn't too sweet. I'd highly recommend this.

Dark chocolate and French mint melt away
Very nice alternative to the Easter eggs you get in Europe, although small the dark chocolate and French mint melt away was fabulous and it took me a few goes to eat it all even though it's very moreish. the chocolate is very rich but creamy and the melt away was a really nice mint fudge.

You'll not be disappointed. Well worth the money
This is so decadent and flavourful I was really pleasantly surprised. I'm a Cadbury girl all the way BUT I may be a secret nibbler of this one. You'll not be disappointed. Well worth the money.

Delicious and unique product
I was delighted to discover that these fruit and nut eggs were available from Amazon. They are made in Pennsylvania and I never thought I'd see them for sale anywhere else.To my taste, these are the perfect confection, especially for Easter. The filling is thick, sweet and slightly chewy, with a generous quantity of candied fruit and nuts. The texture is softer than most nougat and much firmer than marshmallow. In other words, exactly right. The shell is high quality chocolate topped with a little sugar flower. It's just the right thickness - plenty of delicious filling but enough chocolate too.Somewhere else in the world they may make something like this, but if so I've never seen it. These eggs are relatively expensive, but if you think you'd like this combination of tastes you owe it to yourself to try one.

DELICIOUS! -One Word Sums it up
My first experience, which was probably due to a torn box that allowed air to dry out the coconut, prompted a very unfavorable review. I discarded the candy, and wrote that the the coconut was dry, and tasteless. It was impossible to slice. It just crumbled. I wrote, "Coconut should be moist. Philadelphia Candies has an excellent reputation. This is just OLD candy, even the box is old and faded." "Gee, I hate seeing my hard earned money gone in the garbage. It's too bad that food items are non-returnable, but Amazon will usually make it right. I think this is last year's model, sporting a new bar code that isn't even recognized by my Amazon scan app. Hmm." (The torn box should have given me a clue that it had been exposed to air) but, I felt bitter and cheated, and as far as I was concerned that was the end of it. UNTIL . . . The Philadelphia Candies rep had other ideas, so that evening I wrote---"Update: Out of all fairness, I feel compelled to inform you that:Before this comment could even post, I received a phone call from a representative of Philadelphia Candy. It was rather late in the evening, and at first, I thought it was a joke. Come on now, who could care whether I liked my easter egg-especially days after Easter when there was no money to be made. But who else would know about it! Bottom line is, he was very concerned about customer satisfaction, and the reputation of the company. He explained that the eggs are always made fresh, and are shipped within hours after they are made. With so many factors involved any one thing can unknowingly go wrong, to alter an excellent egg. I do remember the favorable reviews to far out weigh the negative ones. (I did only find 3 or less) The company will be sending me another coconut egg to replace the unsatisfactory one. Even though food items are non-returnable on Amazon, their products are 100% guaranteed. It has alway been my opinion that customer service extends long after the sale-and they have definitely hit the mark in that area. I am very impressed with the customer service, and they must feel confident about their product or they would not offer it knowing that people like us, actually read these comments."Final Review/Update: For those interested in knowing the final (I promise) review of the replacement Coconut Eggs sent from Philadelphia Candies.3 or 4 days later----I did receive another egg as promised. In fact, I rec'd two of them. Now I can join the majority because this egg definitely qualifies as a "5". I say this not because it is FREE, but because it is DELICIOUS! Here is the moist coconut egg that I had been looking for. Sort of like bumping in to an old buddy. I am quite pleased, and will make future purchases. I understand that Philadelphia Candies also sell some sugar-free products so, I will order something for my diabetic husband. I know that it will be quality. Why so much "to-do" about candy? Well, like many others, I am a calorie and money counter and cannot afford to waste either (calories or money), on foods that are not truly enjoyable. I had planned to upload a picture, but I kept munching away at the egg until it was not very attractive. I did not think anyone would be interested in seeing a 2/3 eaten easter egg. The customer service was amazing-they did everything short of bringing it to the door. Because of the faith that the rep had in his company and their products I was afforded the chance to re-evaluate a delicious candy.

Better than my childhood memories
I'd think about these fruit & nut eggs every Easter, especially when I'd notice that every store carried exactly the same boring megabrands of Easter candies. I'd wonder whatever happened to those big cream/fruit/nut filled eggs my mother would buy and which we'd have to share so sparingly. Whatever happened to them? So finally, last Easter I looked on Amazon and found what looked to be the candy eggs of my childhood and, finally, this year, I ordered one. This fruit & nut egg is actually better quality than those I remembered. Just delicious & so rich. I should have either ordered the 16 oz. or two of these. I might still. Well worth it.2023 update - if possible, try to order directly from the Philadelphia Candies Company or at least have them ship the candy. Every year that I've ordered this item it's been well wrapped inside a corrugated cardboard box. However, I discovered that ordering this item through Amazon means that the manufacturer has no control over when or how the item is shipped. Per conversation with a very kind and responsive Philadelphia Candies rep. I found out that the company specifically requests that Amazon NOT mail these boxed candies in their plastic bubblewrap envelopes, nevertheless, this is exactly what Amazon did. As a result of Amazon's carelessness and poor judgement, the flimsy envelope was no match for the rodent(s) who chewed into the bag, into the lightweight candy box and ate part of the candy egg. I recieved a nasty mess, all thanks to Amazon. I have to say that Amazon has credited my account, and so they should. Moreover, the horrified Candy Company has insisted that they send me another chocolate egg, at no cost to me (which they will properly pack in a box). - Looking forward to a chocolate egg that is not Rat Leftovers.
