I purchased this item for my mother who was complaining of the regular machines pinching her arm and giving her a higher reading because of the pains it caused. I purchased this one and she loves it however you MUST have your body (sitting down) and arm in a specific position (Not like shown in the meek instructions with your palm up but rather in a loose fist held naturally with the thumb on top) in order to get a more accurate reading. We compared this machine's reading to two other machines for over an hour and this one was usually 10 -15 points higher on the top number and 1-2 points different on the bottom number. There were also times when it registered 0 on the top number with a normal reading on the bottom. My mothers BP has been in the 140 range but this machine is showing it to be in the 120 range. So i am not sure what i think about this machine just yet. It is VERY VERY picky on how you are positioned so i suggest you test it with another machine or two to determine how you must be positioned in order to get a good reading.

It's A Very Good Value
This BP monitor is a very good value for the price. It does have a couple of drawbacks. It can store some 90 readings, I believe, but it can't store the date or time, so it is kind of not so useful. It has a terrible time with an irregular heartbeat, which I have. It will sort of try extra hard, then give a blinking heart to indicate the irregular heartbeat. Sometimes it gives a reading that I cannot trust (for heart rate), and sometimes it will just give an error message. Makes me then wonder how valid the BP measure is, but I checked it with another monitor and it seems to agree. It also has a rating system with a red, yellow and green light to rate your BP reading. I could sure do without that. But as I said, it is a great value for the money, so I guess I can put up with a couple of annoying features.

Flighty accuracy compared to A & D upper arm models
Well made and documented. But not accurate enough for me, so I donated to Goodwill.Am nut on BP monitors and have gone through many over past few years. Went to A&D brand based on experience with several models that were always close to what got the traditional way at doc's office.Wanted wrist model to use at gym, but gave up when readings varied from close to same, to 20percent higher than my current A&D upper arm model, with no apparent reason for the variation. Pulse rate was always close to upper arm model reading, however.Placement of cuff relative to wrist was touchy, to say the least, and had a major effect on reading got,but again, I could not see a consistency of reading versus cuff placement.I recommend the upper arm models. I have had several A&D models and all worked fine and were close to my doctor's mercury tube model's readings. I choose based upon features I want.

Easier than traditional arm cuff blood pressure process
I have previously had problems with proper positioning of the traditional arm cuff blood pressure unit. I found that this wrist blood pressure monitor was vastly easier. Results were produced quickly and much more accurate than the arm cuff I used to use.

Not accurate
I am 26 and I am followed for high pressure. I am travelling a lot so the real arm monitor is big for the travel, I had great hope about this monitor it is small and the little case could be easily carried even on a purse. I read the instruction, put is on my wrist at the good high, place my hand on my shoulder so the monitor is close to my heart, etc.The monitor scored 20 less on the numbers then a professionnal monitor on both systolic and diastolic. The heart rate was the same. I don't know if I had a brocken one or if this is just not accurate. I guess I can use it now that I know the 20 difference, it is still telling me I do some low blood pressure when I have my medecine and that I am normal if I forget it. Let's say it is just a poor indicator of my blood pressure.

I liked the ease of use
I liked the ease of use. In comparing it with another unit I found there is a moderate difference in the readings. I plan to take the unit to my doctor's office my next visit and have it cheked with a standard unit in his office. I think some of the differences I had were due to incorrect positioning or not allowing adequate time between measurements. I really like the convenience and ease of use of your unit.

wrist blood pressure monitor
This machine, LifeSource takes blood pressure and pulse. It was purchased at Amazon. I am required to take my blood pressure twice daily. I have no way of knowing whether this machine is acurate. However the readings I get are compatable to the readings i was getting on my old machine.I paid $99.00 for my omocron. When it wore out, the company could not repair it.This little wrist machine, cost less than fifteen dollars, shipping and all.The owner's manual is clear and easilly followed. If I were given a choice between the two, i would take this one. ThankyouPhyllis Grissom

Highly recommend this unit for accuracy and convenience!
Great little machine. I keep my wrist at heart level as per instructions and get an accurate reading. I have double checked this at my doctors office against their machines and the numbers match up almost exactly. It is nice to have something bedside so that I can get a quick check on my B.P.. I have lost a lot of weight and my B.P. has dropped. It is nice to be able to check it twice a day to make sure I do not need my medications and to know if/when I would need to call my doctor. The case it comes with is an added bonus as are the batteries. I highly recommend this machines!
