Great taste and very filling. Good source of protein but, just a little salty to my daughter.

Bone broth is supposed to be very good for your overall health and a great way to get in some protein into your day without preparing a meal. This tastes great! However the size of the box and the portion is rather small for the price. The box could be bigger, so not really economical.

Tastes good

I've learned how to make soup from my mum, who used to go the poultry market and buy a live chicken, which they dressed, but also bought extra feet. I haven't seen the feet available for decades, which are full of collagen, mentioned in today's modern fascination with bone soup. Also the market used to sell beef bones cut up for soup but seemed to sell as dog bones now with barely any meat or marrow. I do not use oxtails. One thing about broth, I was taught, it is supposed to be made with meat. Stock is made with bones, and the remnants of flesh, according to my mum. Well, we are talking Mid Century after the Great Depression and World War II Rationing she lived through. So, my mum had this pan that fit on the 1896 gas range with flat burners, to boil up the bones in a couple gallons of water. She used a lot of salt and some vinegar at first. She made a bouquet garni, with some fresh celery, onion, carrot, thyme, and a bay leaf, black pepper corns, and cooked all day, water added occasionally. The stock was then filtered through cheesecloth, and should not be too cloudy. So good with a little pastina (those tiny pasta stars) when we were ill. Got us through the Hong Kong flu!So what about this product? I was very surprised by the intense celery flavor, and yet blandness. Looked like all the good "keto" fat had been skimmed. It was cloudy, and had little aroma. For such a well reviewed product, I was surprised.That's another fallacy I have seen in soup making. One is skims "scum" which is looks foamy with dark particles which are old plasmas and loose proteins. The fat remains, and if desired to remove, is let harden in the fridge overnight, so it is just a layer of fat that can be lifted by hand, and below it should be a nearly firm jelly of the soup's collagen. So this product had little or no fat, and was thin consistency even watery but cloudy, with barely noticeable salt. Just that celery flavor overwhelming any 'beefiness". With long days of hot hot weather, I was hoping to find a good substitute while keeping the stove turned off. It was not this product. It does get rave reviews, but not what I am used to.

I know I'm old but I used to see ads for this and think, Why in the world would anyone drink that from a mug daily?! Now I know. One of the most flavorful broths I've ever had, other than homemade. The great thing is, I don't have to make my own stock and broth. I just pour it into a pot, heat up, pour into a mug and drink it. So easy I don't even have to use a can opener. It smells like homemade and it tastes even better.I have been told to try this as an alternative to collagen supplements an quite happy that this is a great alternative to get protein in my diet.

Good quality bone broth

Where do I start..First of all, this broth package was VERY small, so small it fit in my hand. View picture. 17.6 oz and the package was extremely small. And I paid almost $20 for it. NOT happy.Secondly, the smell opening the container is absolutely horrid. Rotting meat is the best way to describe it. I almost threw it away at this point but decided to cook it against my better judgement. The taste is horrible and tastes like rancid water. I couldnt stomach it and ended up throwing it away. I don't feel like this is a quality product at all, especially with what is being charged. They tried to cover up the bad taste with a lot of salt, but that's not good for you either and you shouldnt have to mask the taste of a good broth. There's no texture, this reminds me of a cheap canned soup you'd buy at the local supermarket. Felt a little naseous after drinking.Thirdly, I don't see how this being shelf stable and all can be a real broth, when I cooked mine in the past it always had to be refrigerated or frozen. I know if its in a tetra pack it is most likely aseptically processed, and with that being said I have a lot of doubts because this most certainly damages the nutritional value of the broth, which is one of the reasons me or anyone else would buy it anyways. But I still wanted to give it a try hoping it would gel in my fridge and that id be pleasantly surprised because of what they said on their website. NO GEL whatsoever. Just smelly, watery liquid.This product is overpriced and overhyped, they are packaging a cheap product trying to capitalize on the "bone broth" name. Extremely disappointed. Wish I could get my money back.Wish I could say something nice about this, but everything was off. Just NO NO NO.Hopefully my review helps others who are trying to make a choice for their health and looking for a quality product.-Matt

I ordered this brand bone broth in Chicken and beef. Was disappointed with the taste. At my grocery I found several brands to try - all under $5.00 for the same size. The Swanson Brand is 100% natural- non-gmo - no msg - no preservatives, artificial flavors or added color- no antibiotics ever- 350mg salt 8 gm protein and tastes great. It’s a no brainer and tastes better and you save $13.00+ for 32oz When I saw the other brands available I was quite offended by the price for this brand. I buy quite a bit on Amazon and will pay a bit more for convenience and options. I take quite a few amino acids daily and added a cup of bb to wind down in the evening or if feeling hungry in the afternoon. I gave 3 stars for ingredients and took off 2 for the price.
