This is a must have for all Firefighters and EMT's!! This tool only weighs 1 ounce and easily fits in any pocket. The Firefighter Swipe Tool is an alternative way of gaining access without causing damage. Created by an FDNY Firefighter, The Firefighter Swipe Tool's design allows for more versatility and flexibility than a traditional shove knife. This tool works on slam locks/knob locks that you would find on an inward opening apartment/house entry door, it does not work on deadbolts. The high-strength, bendable Mylar allows this tool to wrap around the door with ease allowing quick access to those in need. Faster entry, less destruction For a video demonstration go to: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=klcK1Qrt4vw

More than 1 time use. . . if you're smart.
If the door you're using it on has a lot of clearance, and the dead latch/lock plunger (or deadbolt) isn't engaged, you can use this tool on multiple doors. If you don't understand this and just shove it in the crack like a caveman, you won't get more than a few uses out of it.

Very handy
As a professional firefighter assigned to a ladder company, I've used this tool on multiple occasions to open doors in non-emergency situations. We try not to damage people's property unless it's absolutely necessary, and this little tool has been very handy. It won't open a deadbolt, but it works on many types of residential latches. It weighs practically nothing, takes up very little space in your pocket, and has been pretty durable so far. Definitely a good purchase, and even though it's fun to break stuff, people will appreciate it if you don't have to smash up their door.

Worth the money
I debated for a while before buying this but let me tell you it’s worth the money. Very easy to use! If you’ve ever used pry bars to open a door then you know how time consuming it can be, not to mention the damage left behind. Definitely a must have for ladder guys. The only downside is that it doesn’t want to roll up tight enough to fit back in the tube it came in. Other than that it’s great.

the firefighter swipe tool makes life easy and cuts down on unnecessary damage
So simple and effective, the firefighter swipe tool makes life easy and cuts down on unnecessary damage. I’ve used it on internal residental doors, screen security doors, metal commerical doors without deadbolts and entry doors. It is my go to tool before I use the irons to gain access. It is my “try, before you pry”. The learning curve is understanding the angle it needs to be at to get by the latch. Once you get that down, opening doors are a breeze to get through.

Works great
Worked great even though no longer in the service I was able to use these at my employer for those lock out situations. Handed them off to a coworker who is a Lt in a volunteer company and he found it a great tool vs having a set of irons or a rabbit tool

Good for the basics
Bought this as gift and 1 for me. Very light amd sturdy for household doors. Nice for a firefighter tool to not be super overpriced. Been used on scene for a lock out and worked great. The only thing that stinks is trying to stick it back in the container because its too bulky to just stay loose in pocket

Practice makes perfect
This is great. It has helped me open several doors now and it is still going strong. Just takes practice.

Must needed tool, saves on damaging the door.
Quick and easy to use even my child can manipulate to open the door. I liked it so much that I bought it for the whole crew at the fire station.
