This is the best guava for pastries
We’ve been using this for years. Great taste and texture. A bit more solid than canned cranberry sauce, but not as hard as a gummy bear. One tablespoon of guava + one tablespoon of cream cheese in a puff pastry—the best. We only use about 1/3 of the can at a time, so we can put the lid back on and refrigerate until next time. Lasts for a few months.

I've been struggling to find this in stores
I love this paste! We used to have it all the time when I was a kid. It tastes exactly as a remembered :) as a side note, these are plastic tubs and not tins. There are quasi vacuumed sealed up on arrival and the container doesn't have a plastic seal under the lid.

So hard to find
I was thrilled to find Amazon offering this so delicious item…and there were very few left! I enjoy having guava paste with just about everything including breakfast toast the dinner meat. Even in the metropolitan area in which I live I scoured markets of all kinds to no avail.

Excellent Flavor Shipped to your DOORSTEP!
Since Walmart did not have it & I could not find it in any grocery around the Austin, TX area I decided to look on Amazon & BINGO!!! Amazon had it! The flavor was EXCELLENT & the price was perfect. The flavor was GREAT! I use for Christmas snacks with Rtiz crackers & Gouda cheese, but any cheese will do. Basically it is the salt & sweet combination you are looking for.

Perfect - if you can eat in one sitting
After searching all over this tin for a pull-tab or zip to release a top, I resigned myself to the realization that this needed a can opener to get into it. I have 2 electric can openers and neither worked on this. I scrounged around my house and finally found an old manual "clamp and twist" style of opener that one has to muscle through, and doing so with a tin of this diameter was quite awkward. However, once I managed to muscle my way in, a beautiful and oh-so-delicious pink gel was my reward. I scooped out a plentiful serving and plopped it into a dish to finish off my charcuterie platter and all was right in my world - until I needed to figure out how to store this magical gel. Scooping it out isn't as easy as it sounds, as it's very thick and sticky....it's not like spooning out a jar of jam. Considering the stubbornness of the gel, and the size of the tin (and the fact that there is no way to re-seal the tin), I ended up throwing the open tin into a gallon sized ziploc and simply tossed the whole thing into the fridge. The guava paste is delicious, however, getting to it is quite challenging if one doesn't have the exact toolset handy, and storing the unused portion is quite wonky.
