Great book, about a fairly new topic.
I really recommend this book. It provides great insights about the topic. It serves as a great introduction with great content about the subject. It can be used by developers and other IT teams to get familiar with Green IT.I have shared it with my colleagues as we are having internal objectives about ESG.It is well written, and interesting. Even for people outside of IT it can provide lots of knowledge about sustainability and how we can make an impact for a greener world.

Excellent Book on Green Software
Thanks to the hard work and expertise of the authors and their ability to tame complexity and combine components and elements of green software into a connected whole, makes the book easy to read. There is a good section on setting the context (big picture) followed by more detailed chapters on Code Efficiency, Operational Efficiency, Carbon Awareness, Hardware Efficiency, Networking, and much more...Each chapter provides the right level of details for the understanding of the topic and for those individuals requiring more in-depth knowledge there are plenty of links to resources, references, etc... to enable you to deep-dive into what interests you.I found this book instrumental in driving my work in co-designing the Net Zero Strategy for the business unit of the organisation I work for and therefore contribute to the overall organisation's commitment to Net Zero by 2040 (for all scopes of the GHG Protocol). It is a must read if you are involved (in any role, not just developers) and/or interested in sustainability of the ICT sector.

A brilliant guide for all those interested in greener software and services
I am service designer, so not the main target audience for this excellent book on building green software.I am however involved in work to develop a set of guidelines for the design and delivery of greener services (covering all the disciplines involved), and so this book was of great interest to me! For those new to questions of climate change, environment and sustainability, it provides an excellent and relatively in-depth introduction to the broader topic, before then getting into the nuts and bolts of what it means for software to be ‘green’. Coverage includes code, operational and hardware efficiency before discussing networks, machine learning, AI and LLMs and the thorny question of measurement.I would recommend it to all interested in the question of green software, products and services, and for those without direct experience on the technical side like me, it represents a very accessible and enjoyable crash course!

The right book at the right time
The book brings the core concepts together in a relaxed, informative and thoughtful manner. It is a fantastic resource to introduce technology staff to or reenforce learning, on the key principles we need align to, to reduce or at least measure and control the growth of carbon emissions from the deployment of new technology systems.

Concise but comprehensive guide to an interesting, tricky subject
Software sustainability is an interesting but also incredibly complex subject here made comprehensible by some brilliant thinking and tightly written prose by Anne, Sarah Hsu, Sara Bergman. It manages to be approachable and, thanks to some good jokes, highly entertaining.

It's a good conceptual book
The book is very good for the information available on the market. I believe that the topic is still too recent to have more technical and consistent content, but the authors did an excellent job for future researches.
