Most comfortable mattress I've ever owned
I purchased the Zinus 8 Inch Gel-Infused Green Tea Memory Foam Mattress / Cooling Gel Foam / Pressure Relieving / CertiPUR-US Certified / Bed-in-a-Box, Queen size. It has three different layers of foam and is not a hybrid model. First is the 4.5" high-density base support foam, next is the 1.5" comfort foam, and on top is the 2" gel-infused memory foam. This is the first foam mattress I've ever owned, and I'll never go back to using the old box spring mattresses I've had all my life. The first night I slept on it with only a single sheet covering over the mattress and I was stunned by how nice and comfortable it feels compared to everything I've ever slept on before. The second day I installed the SafeRest Queen Size Premium Hypoallergenic Waterproof Mattress Protector, which is quite thin as it's a mattress protector and not a mattress "pad." I noticed no difference in how it feels in any way with this addition after using the bed all day and sleeping for 8 hours the second night. I believe it's so comfortable because of how your body sinks down into the foam slightly which supports your mass more uniformly than other surfaces can. Don't get me wrong about this, it's still a quite firm mattress so it's not like you sink way down into it. I wish there was some way I could better express just how much I love my new Zinus mattress!!! This is like sleeping on a cloud! I've read some negative reviews about people who've removed the cover that comes on the mattress to wash it or for whatever reason and then went nuts complaining about loose fiberglass fragments they encountered afterward. I believe the tiny amount of fiberglass material built into the cover is part of the fire-retardant material that makes up the cover. I also believe the warning the manufacturer gives about not removing the cover is their way of being over-cautious about the possibility of customers coming into contact with fiberglass fibers if they do so, and anyone who has removed the cover has NO ONE TO BLAME BUT THEMSELVES for any problems they encounter for failing to follow the manufacturers instructions. I haven't removed the cover on mine but I did open the zipper about 12" so that I could stick my bare forearm inside and rub it around to see for myself if there really was loose fiberglass fiber but I didn't notice any indication of this at all. My recommendation if you ever feel the need to remove the cover to wash it or whatever is remove the cover, deflate the air out of it and then CLOSE the zipper (without turning it inside out) and then arrange it around the center post of your washing machine. This will ensure the inside and outside of the cover won't come into contact with each other. Wash on a delicate setting, no bleach, then after removing it from the washing machine don't put it in the dryer, just lay it out on the floor to dry before putting it back on. The first picture was taken just 5 minutes after removing the mattress from the box and it's a full 7". 36 hours later it had expanded to the full 8" as can be seen in the second picture. After about 36 hours it was fully expanded and was very smooth and flat with square edges, and it looks almost perfect in every way. I have no idea how long this mattress might last, but after paying only $200 plus $18 in sales tax with free shipping it's easy and cheap enough to replace. I'm still using my old bottom box frame but since the distance between the support slats is a full 6" on my old base, I show in the third picture how I installed (with a few screws) some pieces of 1/4" plywood to the top of it for better support for the foam mattress. I simply bought and installed 3 pieces of 1/4" plywood at 24" x 48". I needed to cut the width of one piece for the foot end of the bed down 4" so that the plywood would break over the supports slat of the old box base. If you choose to follow my example you may need to modify this to some extent depending on the spacing of the support slats of your base.

Quality and sleeps like a dream
I just moved into an RV and was looking for a mattress for the platform in the bedroom but it’s a special size so there weren’t a ton of options so I very carefully read reviews, looked at stars of different things, and read the description. Despite slim pickings’, I still needed a firmer mattress due to a severe back injury I’ve had and in the very description it speaks of being pain relieving, to which I was a bit skeptical but everything else looked really good so I went ahead and took a chance on it. Boy am I glad I did! It only took about 2 days to decompress fully from the box. It’s quite firm yet soft enough to sink in just a little, like the perfect amount. Now let me touch on this cooling effect and pain relieving factors. WOW! I mean WOW! I have been sleeping beautifully for days now, sleeping without waking up in the middle of the night due to back pain from laying down that long and I normally wake up for the day in a world of pain and have to take my pain meds before I can even sit up and stand up (successfully). I have not woken up with an ounce of pain, I wake up refreshed and ready for the day. This morning I didn’t even have to start the schedule of my 4 times a day medication upon opening my eyes during normal life with my normal what I thought was a great bed, a Serta. The cooling feature is just as wonderful. It feels great, I haven’t gotten the least bit warm as I usually do. So the description of the mattress is spot on, believe every word of it and what a bargain price for all of that!! When it comes time to replace it in my stationary, lived in full time RV, I will never get any other mattress. This mattress literally has everything I’ve ever wanted in a mattress and for such a great price at that. Needless to say, there are no cons whatsoever.

Comfortable, cool, supportive, totally worth it
Had ordered the queen, in a "new small box". Packaging was excellent. Allowed around 30 hours for the mattress to expand. But it never expanded to the full 12 inches, it was about 0.5 inches short (and remains so, to this day, i.e. after a month) and that is reason for the 4 stars. That being said, we have no other complaints- we have had quality sleep, feel well-rested on waking up. The mattress does provide adequate support (which was a bit of a surprise, since we were accustomed to a spring mattress and I was skeptical about this one, since it is a foam mattress). It is cool and soothing. I believe we made a very good choice.

Expanded Perfectly
I have had the same mattress for the past 5 years, and it came to me already five years old. I admit, as a night owl I didn't consider that I might have a more challenging time going to sleep at night because my bed was uncomfortable. I got a mattress topper for Christmas, and it helped a bit, but I didn't notice a huge difference. When my friend mentioned she'd bought a new mattress under similar circumstances, I began searching for a new one immediately. As a student, I obviously cannot really afford to drop $1000 on those fancy mattresses people kept recommending. The Zinus mattress caught my eye because A) it was recommended on just about every site I looked for "High-quality, affordable mattresses," and B) I have a 2-year-old Zinus bedframe that I love and has served me so well. I've had the mattress for a few days now and although it arrived a bit too firm for my liking, it has since softened. Granted, I spent some time walking on it to break it down faster. I expect the mattress to become even softer as it continues to modify to my body shape. Mattress preferences are extremely subjective, but for a 120-pound female, this mattress feels heavenly to me. I've been so excited about how it feels that I'm spending a lot of time in my bed and trying to go to bed earlier. I'm biased toward the brand but I will modify this review if I notice the quality of the mattress degrading.

A very nice mattress
This is the second mattress like this I've ordered. The first was for a family member's summer house in the Queen size. This time I did it for my own spare room in full/double due to lack of space in the bedroom. It's a nice mattress for the price. It's fairly firm, but a little bit soft as well. Combine it with a waterproof mattress cover (and the Zinus frame) and you should have a mattress that stays clean and lasts for several years.

Incredible for the price
Bought the 10in KingI read a lot of reviews and was really hesitant before buying this mattress. First of all there was no smell at all when unpacking this. It inflated in a few minutes but we didn't use it for the first 2 nights. It did firm up during that waiting time and I suggest to everybody to wait like we did.First impression was that it feels a bit weird when you lie down on it for the first time. It feels hard at first and then you slowly sink into the top gel layer. It then conforms to your body and you will sink around 2 inch deep. If you move, the imprint of your body will stay there for like 15s and then totally disappears. This also feels weird at first.Once you get used to it is actually quite supportive and comfortable. The very first night, both me and my gf slept super well and have been sleeping well for the 2 weeks we've had it so far. It doesn't feel particularly hot as most people suggest memory foam normally does. I slept on my back, my side and my stomach and all 3 positions felt fine. Note that I do have an easier time sleeping on my back than I used to with this mattress. For the price, if this mattress lasts me around 5 years, I will be quite happy.

Comfortable and Cool Memory Foam Mattress
The Zinus Full Mattress with Green Tea Cooling Gel Memory Foam is a comfortable choice for a good night's sleep. The cooling gel technology helps regulate temperature, ensuring a more restful sleep experience. The mattress arrived conveniently packaged in a box, and the setup was straightforward. While I'm satisfied with the overall comfort and support, I noticed a slight odor upon opening, although it dissipated after a few days. Overall, a great value for the price and would recommend it for anyone in need of a budget-friendly mattress option.

A LOT BETTER NOW
So I decided to buy this 12" full mattress even though I wasn't please with the 12" twin i bought 2 months earlier. So I received it about 2 hours ago. I took out of the box and unwrapped and then i put the mattress on top of my bed. I then let it relax and expand for about an hour. I then took a hairdryer and i used on the corners while i kneaded and prodded them. By doing so, it helps to get those bunched in corners pointing outward again. Very important to take a hair dryer to the corners if they don't want to expand to their full potential. But be careful with the heat and the kneading and prodding. Easy does it. So i then laid down and rolled around on the mattress, helping to activate the foam to loosening it up as well as heating it up. You can always leave it in a room and turn up the heat over night as well. So it was sitting at 10" when i unrolled it and after 2 hours of taking the heat and rolling around on it. Its now sitting at 11 1/2". I am sure in the next few days it will reach its full height. So i am quite please with this mattress. It says its a firm mattress. I will add to this review later on down the road regarding the firmness etc. But i just want people to understand that its take heat and kneading and prodding and rolling around to get the mattress to expand to its full potential. I have seen photos of people showing the corners of their mattresses and they look horrible. But I am pretty sure they were just letting the mattress expand by itself. Don't get me wrong though, there are mattresses that don't need to be heated and kneaded and prodded. But there are some that do. I do it because it helps to speed up the process etc .. The photos show that by doing what i did. It didn't take long for the mattress to expand the way it did in less than 2 hours. So the 1st photo the mattress is 10" and the 2nd photo it is sitting at 11 1/2" and after laying in my bedroom with the heat turned up , the 3rd photo shows its sitting at its full proud 12". I also found that the sides are firming up nicely as well. So thanks for reading.....

This is a side sleepers (human or K9) best friend!
Omg! I can't believe I bought this mattress for under $500. I was super skeptical because stuff like this can be hit or miss. I got the king size (12 inches). Definitely didn't want to regret my purchase and then get stuck figuring out how I'd return it. I am pleasantly surprised and proud of my purchase.Unpack:I was able to unpack it and place it on my bedframe by myself and it wasn't too bad at all (I'm 5'2). I do recommend getting help if you have stairs. Pretty heavy and awkward, especially if you're a shorter person.Decompression:This is what I was mostly worried about. I kept reading that a lot of people were having issues with this mattress reaching its true size; however, I found that it was almost at its true size within the first 24 hours. I still have another 48 hours to go and about an inch of decompression left.Chemical scent:I also kept reading a ton of complaints about the chemical scent. I found it dissipated within a few hours. Especially after I put on the mattress protector and my bedding.Firmness:I read that some buyers were disappointed at how soft or how firm this mattress is. As a side sleeper, I can't have a super firm bed, but I also feel uncomfortable with a super soft bed, as I sometimes combination sleep. I found this sank moderately at the right spots. I dont feel pressure points, but this is memory foam and that is the best for side sleepers (that's what my research tells me, anyhow). It also helps big dog joints (for those who sleep with their pups). I have a 122lbs Italian Mastiff, and she loves our new bed. My big girl falls asleep so quickly and sleeps all through the night without getting up to adjust herself. Still need more time to see if it continues.Value:My last mattress was over $2000. After buying this one at about $460-ish, I cannot believe I spent so much money on my last mattress. I guess I still need more time to form my final opinion, but for now, my gosh! Do I ever feel lucky to have come across this mattress. What type of sleepers should buy this:I highly recommend this mattress for side sleepers, as we typically need pressure relief for hips, knees and shoulders. This mattress sinks slightly in those places providing relief that is hard to find outside of the memory foam mattress spectrum.Combination or stomach sleepers may need something a bit more firm.1 year update:It's been nearly one year since I bought this mattress and my pup and I are still in love with it.It hasn't changed since my last review, except that it eventually reached its full decompression size of 12 inches within the first 72 hours. No chemical scent. Best sleep of my life.I will never go back to buying mattresses from a department store.2 year update:My big girl and I are still loving our mattress. It hasn't sunk in where we both sleep and it continues to be an amazing restful experience for the two of us.Now, when I sleep anywhere that isn't my mattress, I can feel the difference in quality and I miss my mattress lol.I will continue to stress that this is ideal for side sleepers. Combination and back sleepers may need something firmer, whilst stomach sleepers may require a softer mattress. If you're a side sleeper, give it a go! I don't regret this purchase one bit.
