The NightyNite® NaturalStart Classic Crib Mattress The NaturalStart is a completely natural baby mattress made from entirely naturally sourced products. The core support is made from rubberised coconut coir fibres wrapped in luxury lambswool padding, creating a firm but comfortable sleep surface. The cover is made of a fabric we call OutLux, which is built up of three layers, two layers of 100% brushed organic cotton with a micro layer of PU (less than 7%) sandwiched in the middle. This combination of layers makes the fabric waterproof but still breathable. Underneath the OutLux cover is a thin cotton cover which helps protect the mattress core further and gives you a sleep surface if the outer cover gets soiled in the night. This unique foam free design provides a genuine dust mite free environment which helps to prevent the build up of harmful allergens which may aggrevate some childhood allergies such as eczema and asthma. The components of this mattress are also biodegradeable, which means the mattress is kind to the environment. All cot and cot bed mattresses have to be flame retardant to conform to strict British standards. Foam is treated chemically to achieve this. However no flame retardant chemicals are needed on the NaturalStart. This mattress contains no springs, foam or PVC and conforms to British standards BS1877, BS7177 and the recommendations of FSIDS. Both outer covers are removeable for machine washing. This crib mattress is 3.5cm thick.
